MANILA: Isuzu Motors and Volvo Group have furthered their strategic alliance with a newly-forged agreement that now covers a minimum duration of 20 years.

Built on the strategic partnership framework agreement established in October 2020, the latest cooperation between the two firms is eyed to take up the “possibilities and challenges of the logistics industry of the future” while bolstering value for customers and the society in general.
Under the agreement, the Volvo Group will supply key components — particularly powertrains — as well as technical support in quality assurance for the development of the new products.

“The partnership will focus on advancing platform development and strengthening customer support systems to ensure a stable and successful market introduction,” IML mentioned in the statement.
With it, Isuzu noted that its collaboration with the Volvo Group highlights its commitment to delivering sustainable and competitive products and services.

By combining our technological strengths and expertise, we are paving the way for the future of medium heavy-duty trucks in Japan and across Asia. And it will further enhance the stability and reliability of our products and services for customers," Isuzu Motors Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Masanori Katayama was quoted as saying.
For his part, Volvo Group President and CEO Martin Lundstedt said that the setup with Isuzu provides a win-win situation. “By leveraging shared technology, both parties can drive industrial efficiency and long-term value for customers. It strengthens our ability to grow revenues while contributing to a more competitive offering in the Asian market," he explained.
