About the Suzuki Swift

The Suzuki Swift is all about practicality. The car was first launched in 2005 in the Philippines and ever since, the hatchback has only gotten better. Suzuki has shown some impressive styling and engineering skills giving the latest generation Swift a classic European MINI Cooper-ish styling, and a really decent performing engine, as well as smooth handling.

With dimensions getting 10mm shorter, 40mm wider, and 15mm lower than the previous model, the latest Swift has a more adventurous and attractive look which is enhanced by a larger and more aggressive grille and a sharper headlight design. The slim lower intake links the two fog lights and adds to the front fascia outlook. The lines of the car are more prominent now. The inside of the car is also pretty satisfactory with chronograph inspired analog gauges, circular central aircon vents, and an integrated touchscreen infotainment system. The steering wheel looks pretty sporty as well. 

The Swift comes with a single-engine variant that is the K12M 1.2-litre inline-4 petrol engine.  The car is based on Suzuki's new HEARTEC platform which has a more rigid and lighter frame with more curves and fewer joints. The comfort is great both in the cabin and in the rear with increased space in the rear area and the  Independent MacPherson struts in front and a semi-independent torsion beam at the rear. The engine produces powers of up to 82 hp at 6000 rpm and a torque of 113 Nm at 4200 rpm. 

You can get the 5-speed manual transmission or the new continuously variable transmission (CVT).
