EV brand Weltmeister arrives in PH

MANILA: WM Philippines (WMPH) was recently awarded exclusive distributorship rights in the country for WM Motor, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) provider. WMPH is the first distributor of a full-play EV in the country.

The distributor agreement between was signed last February 11 by WM Motor Asia Pacific (WMAP) Chief Executive Officer Yedi Sondhy and WMPH’s Rashid Delgado. The event was also graced by WM Motor International Director, Board of Commissioner, and Shareholder Huang Qinglai and WMAP Chairman and Founder Sri Hascaryo.

WMPH is the first official distributor of the Weltmeister brand outside of China, with the goal of expanding the possibilities for local EV market development. In the second quarter of 2022, WMPH will open its first showroom at 7NEO, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Situated at the center of Taguig’s business district, WMPH promises a sustainable and cost-effective driving experience despite the city’s rush and bustle.

In a statement, Delgado said, “The adoption of EVs has been an ongoing trend mostly seen in developed countries like Norway, the US, and China. We are excited to see the Philippines take this path and embrace the benefits of a more sustainable mobility solution.”

WMPH is also set to launch the Weltmeister W5 by the second quarter of the year, as well as other exciting innovations from the developing segments of sedans, MPVs, and SUVs in the country.
