Range Rover Evoque Convertible is Unveiled

MANILA: The Range Rover has officially unveiled the Evoque convertible. Said to be world’s first luxury compact convertible SUV, the car combines the brand’s renowned luxurious design and off-road prowess. Talking about the exteriors, the 2-door soft-top carries over the Evoque’s design with its sleek front fascia, athletic side profile, and noticeable rear. The centrepiece of the SUV is a folding fabric roof which the brand claims that is the widest and longest fabric, currently fitted to any vehicle till date.

The Z-folding roof can be deployed in 21 seconds and can stow away in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 4 kmh. The designing is done keeping the original silhouette in mind while the colors in which it will be available are Ebony Black, Waitomo Gray, and Baltoro Ice. The high quality sound insulation just like standard Evoques is not compromised here even after installation of folding roof. The storage space of 251-litres exists at the back as well.

Coming to the interiors, the Evoque Convertible has a 10.2-inch touch screen system powered by Jaguar Land Rover’s latest InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. The smartphone integration, door-to-door navigation,3G connectivity, and premium audio system are all very well placed there. Other attractive features available in soft top SUV are –speed automatic gearbox, four-wheel drive, optional 1-speaker Meridian sound system, adaptive LED headlights, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay integration and the Terrain Response System.

The safety is taken care of with Roll-Over Protection device where if the SUV topple over, two aluminium roll bars will deploy within 90 milliseconds on the rear, thus, providing protection to passengers.The engines available in Evoque Convertible are all-aluminium inline-fours which are either gasoline or diesel powered. The turbocharged 2.0-litre Ingenium engine puts out 240 PS while 2.2-litre turbo-diesel cranks out 150 PS and 10 PS.
