SM Prime eyes adding 50 charging stations nationwide
Closes Q1 2025 with 131-structure strong network
MANILA: Around 50 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are eyed to be put up within the properties of SM Prime Holdings before 2025 ends.

The company is targeting to establish EV charging stations on residential communities and leisure estates as well as office developments and convention centers.In a statement, the property developer said that the aforementioned infrastructures that will soon be established is expected to complement the existing 131 facilities around the company’s portfolio.
Per SM Prime, its current EV charging station network across malls and office developments are aimed at supporting low-emission transport while its future installations will be seen on residential communities and leisure estates as well as office developments and convention centers.

“Integrating sustainable practices into our operations is a core part of SM Prime’s long-term strategy,” SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim was quoted as saying. “Through this initiative, we are also supporting the government’s vision for an inclusive and future-ready EV ecosystem,” he added.
To note, the DOE is eyeing to have a sufficient volume of charging stations nationwide from 2023-2040 to support the growing local new energy vehicle market.
