Things we like

For a sedan having its length under four meters, the Honda Brio Amaze showcases impressive levels of cabin space, which is quite comparable to a premium hatchback of its class. The Brio Amaze’s main strength lies in its class-leading rear seat space as well as boot space, with the latter outclassing that of a couple of sedans from one segment above.

The i-VTEC technology from Honda has always been revered for its rev-happy nature, and thankfully, the Brio Amaze too carries the same genes. Though the Brio Amaze is powered by a rather small 1.2-litre four-cylinder motor from the Jazz, the linear power delivery has some sort of excitement which usually the family-oriented cars in its price range happen to miss out on.

Things we don't like

Sub-four meter sedans and SUVs are the latest in-thing in the automobile industry, so the vehicles falling under this segment need to be fresh till date. The Brio Amaze, sadly, looks a decade old when viewed from the outside. Considering the facts that Honda has updated the Brio (the hatchback on which it is based), as well as the second generation Honda Amaze already on sale in some of the international markets, the Brio Amaze sold here in the Philippines feels outdated.

While the Brio Amaze feels very spacious and comfortable on the inside, the lacklustre and too sober cabin layout and design rob the overall feel. The cabin misses out on a number of features, while at the same time, the dashboard’s design too feels dated.
