Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

The entire cabin of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera has the same layout as that of DB 11. However, the cabin looks extensively restyled with added highlights like sport plus seats, Onyx black leather upholstery with tri-axil quilted design for the seats, piano black, carbon fiber, and silver inlays, and contrast red stitching all around.

Apart from these changes, the cabin of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera gets the same three-part full TFT instrument console, a waterfall-like center console with 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, and fully powered, heated, and ventilated seats.

On the outside, the overall stance and dimensions of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera look very much similar to that of the DB 11 grand tourer. However, there are a few visual tweaks over the DB 11 here, which does give it an identity of its own. All these tweaks make the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera look even wilder and more aggressive to look at.

At the front, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera gets a huge grille, which is similar to what the other Aston Martins do get. However, it is massive in its layout and is devoid of traditional horizontal slats. This grille stretches to the sides of the front bumper, which also get big air dams. All these highlights do make it look outright sporty. The headlamps here are not as sleek as they are on the DB 11, but are slightly bigger and more rounded, and still get full LED treatment.

The side profile of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera looks as long and elegant as the DB 11. However, the lower ground clearance and sportier-looking 21-inch black alloys do instill added sportiness on the sides. Adding more drama to the side profile is the air vents on the front fender, beefed-up rear overhangs, and sharply raked roofline towards the rear.

At the back, the boomerang-shaped LED tail lamps of the DB 11 are replaced by slimmer horizontal streaks of LEDs, which are adjoined by a prominent crease on the boot lid. The added highlights like boot-mounted slim-looking spoiler and quad exhaust pipes (two on either side) shout that this Aston Martin has got added doses of power under the bonnet.

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera has the same suspension combination as that of the DB 11 – independent double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear, both of which get anti-roll bars and adaptive dampers. The suspension has been tuned slightly stiffer for more agility and stability around corners. These changes come at the cost of ride quality, which is not so smooth over normal urban roads. Like the DB 11, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera also gets an adaptive damping system with three modes – GT, Sport, and Sport+.

The real magic of a DBS model from Aston Martin lies under its hood, and the same goes for this DBS Superleggera as well. The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera shares its 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine from the DB 11, but is heavily retuned to make higher power and torque outputs. Coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, this engine dishes out 715 bhp of maximum power and 900 Nm of maximum torque. These figures surely make it the most powerful road-legal Aston Martin model to date.

Shared with the DB 11, the safety equipment list of Aston Martin DBS Superleggera consists of front and side airbags, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD and brake assist, traction control, positive torque control, dynamic torque vectoring, electronic parking brake, dynamic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, blind-spot detection and many more.
