Beguiling by looks, enthralling by dynamism and solemnly refined by spirit. The statement goes inevitably right for this another iconic successor from the German sports car specialist, Porsche AG christened as Porsche Boxster. The car is a mid-engined two-seater roadster that was first introduced by the company in 1996 and shares the pride of being the Porsche's first road vehicle originally designed as a roadster since 550 spider. The name 'Boxster” is intelligently derived from the words “boxer” and “roadster”, which resembles the Boxer engine fitted in the car and the roadster body type of the car respectively.

Interior & Features

The interior designers of the car have wholeheartedly dedicated their creativity and ergonomics knowledge to craft a purely convenient and lively interiors that lets you drink every single drop of joy in the soul essence of it. The leather-appointed steering wheel, the perfectly-configured instrument panel and control panel, and the Porsche Communication Management with navigation module, which features a luxurious sense of intuitiveness, together offers a large feast of authority and ergonomics. The beautifully decorated interiors makes you feel all the more lively and gives you a worth-experiencing sense of comfort by the supportive leather-attired bucket sports seats, additional and the Burmester High-End Surround Sound System. The interiors of the car features 150 litres of front and 130 litres of rear cargo space, which is sufficient to carry your useful amenities.

A roadster is inevitably sculpted to catch many fascinating glances, and with this roadster fascination gets all new peaks of imagination. The roadster graciously displays a charming young identity owing to its well-crafted sporty styling. The slippery aerodynamics incorporated in the side profile of the car is further accentuated by the wide functional side air vents. The elegant front look of the car is an enchanting play of curves and edges that is blended with functionality with features like the wide lower air vents and the LED headlights. The sleek and wide appearance of the roadster is evidently a result of its precise dimensioning, reading – 4374 mm x 1801 mm x 1282 mm (L x W x H) and a wheelbase of 2475 mm.

Engine & Fuel Consumption

The athletic roadster comes in two transmission variants which are Manual transmission and a PDK transmission variant. The power-mill that pumps power down the veins of the vehicle is the 2706 cc flat-6-cylinder Boxer engine that features a low center of gravity and a particularly distributed weight. With this, the engine employs the use of Direct fuel Injection ( DFI) and VarioCam Plus technologies that gains in the benefits of a precise combustion process at all engine speeds. This engine generates a maximum power output of 265 hp at 6700 rpm coupled to a capable torque of 280 Nm between 4500-6500 rpm. This ultra-refined power-pump hugs the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission and in close coordination with it catapults the roadster dynamically with 100 kmph from naught in just 5.7 seconds, while in 5.5 seconds for the Sport+ mode. The thermal management system and the DFI gives the engine the capability to display a decent mileage of 7.9 litres/100km.

Braking Safety

With all these dynamic capabilities and electrifying performance, the car promises you a high-end safety. The car is encased with the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system that uses the information from the velocity and acceleration sensors to mitigate the conditions of oversteer and understeer. The PSM employs the use of automatic brake differential (ABD) and anti-slip regulation (ASR) technologies to offer precise handling. The car with this features the drag torque control (EDC), Roll over protection and Anti-theft protection. The efficient braking system employed in the car consists of four-wheel ventilated disc brakes or the optional ceramic composite disc brakes coupled with assists like Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Brake-force Distribution. The open roof roadster can be converted to enjoy a coupe functionality with the electric hood feature.

The winsome Porsche successor owing to its thrilling performance characteristics, perfectly-calibrated handling assistances, purely astonishing and aerodynamic exteriors and the soul intuitive interiors fetches itself a position way high its competitors. However, being a sporty roadster the cargo space of the car falls on its small side.
