Changan CS75

The Changan CS75 is very much a new-age SUV on the inside too, with the cabin having a very attractive and futuristic layout and presence of contemporary features on board. The SUV is available with dual-tone black and red leatherette upholstery as standard, which makes the interior ambiance look very sporty.

The highlight of the cabin is the wide driver’s cockpit with a D-shaped steering wheel and a rectangular-shaped housing which gets two large TFT screens – a 7-inch screen for instrument console and a 12-inch screen for the touch-controlled infotainment system. Just below the infotainment screen, there are slim-looking AC vents and a wide lower center console that accommodates an automatic climate control panel, which also houses a push start-stop button. Other features which make the cabin of the Changan CS75 plush and premium are a panoramic sunroof, 60:40 split rear seats, powered driver’s seat, electronic parking brake, and a 6-speaker audio system.

There is hardly any fault in the way the Changan CS75 has been designed. It looks like a perfect SUV which suits the dynamism of the younger generation buyers with its dynamic looks, which make it appear like a much more expensive SUV.

At the front, the Changan CS75 shows a hint of the design language of Lexus, with its aggressive front fascia comprising of a large spindle-like grille with a diamond-studded pattern and slim-looking sweptback LED headlamps. The LED headlamps get slim-looking daytime running LEDs on their inner edges, which extend towards the middle of the upper edge of the front grille. What makes the Changan CS75 look very sporty from the front are the massive fog lamp housings, which have an edgy-looking design and get air intakes as well. These housings are garnished with slim red-coloured strips on their lower portions.

The Changan CS75 has a very distinctive look when viewed from the side, with a raised front bonnet giving it a typical SUV-ish stance and the slightly tapering down roofline giving it an essence of a modern-age crossover. The SUV is nicely designed here with a couple of flowing creases, which add some sharpness to its design. The rounded wheel arches and bottom portion of the door panels get slim body cladding, with the latter also getting red coloured strips which add a touch of sportiness on the side profile.

At the back, what will catch your attention towards the Changan CS75 is its wishbone-shaped LED tail lamps, the lower part of which stretch downwards towards the rear bumper. The quad exhaust ports might look like overkill to some, but they somehow manage to go with the sporty aura of the SUV.

For an SUV of this class, the Changan CS75 has large dimensions all around, which makes the space inside the cabin very impressive. The SUV has more than enough space for five passengers on board, which makes the back seat experience of the SUV very comfortable. The SUV comes with three different drive modes – Normal, Eco, and Sport, all of which work flawlessly with perfect power delivery to suit varying driving conditions.

The engine which has been employed to supply the power to the Changan CS75 is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard, this engine produces maximum power and torque outputs of 178 PS and 265 Nm respectively.

The Changan CS75 has a decent amount of safety features in its equipment list, which includes noteworthy additions like the front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, traction control, electronic stability program, hill hold control, hill descent control, 360-degree parking camera, reverse parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.

The Changan CS75 has a perfect design in and out for the new-age generation buyers and gets a decently long equipment list to match the modernity in its design. The engine might not be the most responsive in the segment, but it does its job fine enough.
