Chrysler 300C

The Chrysler 300C might look boring on the outside, but on the inside, things take a big dramatic turn. The overall cabin of the Chrysler 300C looks absolutely premium, wrapped in luxury.

The steering wheel feels chunky and comes integrated with buttons for audio and Bluetooth controls as well as cruise control, with a large and pointy-from-bottom centre boss. The instrument console comes with colored theme for the MID screen and looks pretty impressive.

The centre console looks wide and elegant, thanks to a good mix of faux wood, aluminium, and piano black finish. Taking the proud position of the centre console is a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system flanked by two vertical AC vents on its sides and a stylish looking analog clock at the top.

The cabin of the Chrysler 300C feels properly spacious and comes loaded with equipment, the most noteworthy of which include a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, full Nappa leather upholstery, power adjustable front seats, rear sunshade and steering wheel, and 9 amplified speakers with subwoofer.

On the outside, the Chrysler 300C manages to make a style statement with its large dimensions, thus making one feel that it is a proper luxury sedan just by its stance. However, the overall exterior styling has begun to show age in front of its other contemporary rivals, due to which it has lost its sheen.

At the front, the Chrysler 300C has got a large rounded rectangular grille, which gives an impression of an open wide mouth head on. Within it, the Chrysler logo sits proudly, with the grille getting chrome surround which uplifts its premium appeal. The headlamps get projector units as well as daytime running LEDs, with the sleek fog lamps too being LED units which are wrapped around in a horizontally running chrome accent below the front bumper.

The side profile of the Chrysler 300C looks posh owing to the long wheelbase as well as stylish looking multi-spoke machined alloy wheels. The chrome surround over the side windows as well as chrome door handles make the side profile look even more premium.

At the rear, the Chrysler 300C retains the simplistic approach with a clean design for the rear boot lid and trapezoidal LED tail lamps on the outer edges.

Complementing its luxurious and feature-rich cabin, the Chrysler 300C further manages to pamper one even more with its plush and smooth ride quality. At the same time, the large 20-inch alloy wheels and heft in the overall steering and suspension setup makes it an agile handler as well. However, the Chrysler 300C is best enjoyed when driven sedately.

The Chrysler 300C has got only one engine option on offer, which is a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol mill from the Fiat Chrysler family. Coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission, the engine is powerful enough to put up a maximum power of 288 PS and a peak torque output of 340 Nm. Despite being a performance oriented engine, it delivers an impressive fuel economy of 13.6 kmpl.

Chrysler has left no stone unturned in making the 300C a feature-loaded car, which counts in the number of safety features as well. The list of safety equipment on the 300C include front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Path Detection System, Emergency Trunk Lid Release, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Hill Start Assist, Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, front and rear Park Assist System, Rear Back-Up Camera with Dynamic Grid Lines, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

The Chrysler 300C might not make a strong first impression owing to its slightly dated exterior styling. However, it manages to gradually grow on you with its luxurious interior, strong engine performance, and sedate ride quality, thus making it a proper luxury sedan.
