Hyundai Ioniq 5 Interior & Features

The Ioniq 5's interior emphasizes sustainability and adaptability, boasting a minimalist yet functional design with notable eco-consciousness. It integrates eco-friendly materials like plant-based leather, textiles made from recycled fibers, and bio paints derived from natural sources. Both variants sport a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an equally sized infotainment touchscreen, providing seamless connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the Long Range version elevates comfort with power-adjustable front seats featuring memory function and ventilation, exclusive to this variant.

Additionally, the Long Range variant also offers a panoramic sunroof, creating an expansive feel within the cabin. The interior layout capitalizes on the E-GMP platform, maximizing space with movable center consoles and power-sliding rear seats. Its relaxation-focused design emphasizes comfort, exemplified by the reclining front and rear seats.

Ioniq 5 Exterior

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 showcases a captivating exterior that merges retro-futuristic elements with modern design cues. Flaunting Hyundai's Parametric Pixel design, it features clean lines and a sleek silhouette reminiscent of the iconic Pony, exuding a sophisticated yet bold demeanor. The LED headlights, adorned with distinctive 256 Parametric Pixels, complement the front fascia, setting an unmistakable visual identity. Both variants boast a sporty stance with a steeply sloped C-pillar that accentuates the dynamic window frame molding.

Measuring 4,635 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,605 mm in height, the Ioniq 5's proportions strike a balance between compact agility and interior spaciousness. The wheelbase spans 3,000 mm, maximizing cabin roominess. The Standard Range variant rolls on 19" alloy wheels while the Long Range version flaunts larger 20" alloy wheels, contributing to a distinct visual presence between the two models. The chassis, built on Hyundai's E-GMP platform, ensures optimized weight distribution and a low center of gravity, enhancing its handling and overall driving dynamics.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ride & Handling

Both variants of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 share a versatile E-GMP platform, ensuring a harmonious balance between comfort and handling prowess. The suspension system, featuring an independent MacPherson strut at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, contributes to a smooth and composed ride quality.

The spacious cabin, accentuated by ergonomic seating, provides ample legroom and headspace, enhancing long-distance comfort. Notably, the Ioniq 5 accommodates five occupants comfortably and offers adjustable rear seats for added versatility in load capacity. While both variants share these comfort-focused attributes, the Long Range model with larger wheels may slightly impact the ride quality, transmitting more road irregularities compared to the Standard Range variant.

Ioniq 5 Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Ioniq 5 embodies electrified performance with two variants catering to different power preferences. The Standard Range, equipped with a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, generates 170 PS and 350 Nm torque, achieving a commendable 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. In contrast, the Long Range variant boasts a more potent motor, producing 217 PS and the same 350 Nm torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds.

Both variants operate on a single-speed reduction gear transmission, ensuring smooth power delivery and efficient performance. They feature an impressive top speed of 185 km/h as well. Both variants thrive on Hyundai's 800V battery system, providing ultra-fast charging capabilities. The larger 72.6 kWh battery offers an extensive range, allowing the Long Range variant to cover up to 451 kilometers, while the 58 kWh battery in the Standard Range version achieves a commendable 384 kilometers on a full charge.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Braking & Safety

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 boasts a robust safety suite across both variants. Standard features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, blind-spot collision warning, and tire pressure sensors. The Long Range variant introduces advanced driver-assist technologies like adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane keep assist, forward collision avoidance, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance. Both models come equipped with efficient 17-inch ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear for reliable braking performance.

Ioniq 5 Verdict

With a robust warranty of 5 years or 200,000 kilometers, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 delivers a revolutionary electric experience. Its sleek design, eco-conscious interior, and exceptional driving range redefine sustainable mobility in the segment in the local market.
