The cabin of the 2024 KG Mobility Torres looks premium though the company has used a number of hard plastic bits, including the map compartments. The shiny black panel around the automatic transmission lever looks cheap. The beige upholstery on the door panels and the dashboard looks good. Both are available in optional olive green. The dashboard somewhat looks restless because of the various materials and colours. The car gets a 9.0-inch HD Smart Infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. There’s a 12.0-inch digital instrument cluster, the design of which isn’t very logical. Interior ambient lighting adds bit of a special touch to the Torres. The large windows offer great visibility. But the ultra-wide C-pillar is bit of a downer. The quarter-glass at the back is almost non-existent. The car gets a huge cargo space of 73 litres with all seats up. Folding down the 60:40 increases the cargo space to a massive 1,662 litres.

The 2024 KG Mobility Torres has a boxy look that conforms to the typical SUV design. In an age where SUVs look more like oversized crossovers with a downward-sloping roofline, the KG Mobility Torres is more on the traditional side. The build quality is good and that gives peace of mind to the buyer. The body isn’t bulgy and that helps in the aerodynamics. With a 4.7m length, 1.89m width, and 1.72m height, the 2024 KG Mobility Torres is a pretty large SUV even in the midsized class. The car rooks bold from all sides. But the overall exterior design seems to be inspired by other midsized SUVs. The front looks like a mix of elements from the Jeep Wagoneer and the new Hyundai Kona, the wheels seem to be easily swappable with the Volvo EX90. The car gets all-round LED lights.

The cabin of the 2024 KG Mobility Torres is spacious and practical. The two front seats, like in all cars, gets the maximum space. These seats get multi-level adjustment. All seats are heated and are nicely cushioned. Long rides don’t fatigue. The doors are large and getting into the rear row is not a problem. The climate control system cools the car pretty fast. The suspension is a bit on the stiff side but absorbs all bumps and thuds really well. 

The entry-level 2024 KG Mobility Torres is equipped with a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 163 PS/280 Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed automatic. The engine is powerful for a midsized SUV. Revving is quick and the transmission is seamless. On highways, the drive quality is well balanced. The Torres also gets quickly accustomed to city roads, courtesy the light and nicely balanced steering wheel that promptly obeys commands. The vehicle turns corners quickly. There are numerous driver-assist systems that help in controlling the car. But the steering wheel itself has a strange shape. Yes, everything gets used to, but why is it not round? 

The 2024 KG Mobility Torres comes with exhaustive safety equipment that includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera. The chassis of the Torres is manufactured from 81 percent high-tensile steel, making it structurally one of the safest cars in the segment.   

The 2024 KG Mobility Torres has a starting price of ₱1.919 million. There’s a lot of cabin space and long distance travelling is comfortable. Considering its build quality, comfort level and features on offer, the Torres is a worthy car for its price.
