2016 Jaguar XE Premium Debuts in Philippines

MANILA: Jaguar Philippines has officially launched XE, a premium compact sedan at the Palace Pool Club, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on October 22. This hot cat marks the celebration of 20th year of journey of this brand. Originally launched in 2014 in London, this car is Jaguar's most aerodynamic saloon which is mostly made up of aluminum, enabling it to be lighter in weight.

Design-wise the car is eye catching with its aggressive fascia, sculpted hood, prominent grille, and tapered headlights which are integrated with J-Blade daytime running lights. Beltline runs on the entire length of the car which finally culminates towards the rear and blends with the rear quarter panels. The rear has intersecting horizontal tail lights whose design has been taken from F-Type sports car only.

The fine-grain leather, technical fabrics and contrasting twin-needle stitching envelopes the interior of the car. The comfort features include 8-inch touchscreen instrument, dual gauge cluster, fully electronic transmission system, aircon vents for rear passengers and front powered seats. The trim pieces finished in gloss black, wood veneer, textured aluminum, and carbon fiber accents are also available upon order.

Talking about the engine, the XE is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo direct-injection inline-four which will give two different power outputs, first set is of 200 PS and 280 Nm and second set speak 240 PS and 340 Nm. All this insane power is sent to rear wheels through a 8-speed automatic gearbox. Said that a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 and 2.0-litre diesel motor will follow soon. The prices of the XE are expected to be lower than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series models.
