All-new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X breaks cover
‘Most advance Corvette ever’ can reach 0-100 kph in less than 3 seconds

MANILA: Chevrolet has launched the 2026 Corvette ZR1X — which is said to be the “most advanced Corvette ever.”
KEY TAKEAWAYS
How fast can the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X cover a quarter mile?
The hypercar can cover a quarter mile in less than nine seconds. What are the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X's body options?
The vehicle can be had in hardtop and coupe versions. In a statement, the Golden Bowtie marque said that the American hypercar comes with both a powerful internal combustion engine and an electrified all-wheel-drive system — making it the most powerful production Corvette ever.

“From day one, we designed the mid-engine Corvette architecture with ZR1X in mind,” General Motors Senior Vice President Ken Morris said.
“This is the most revolutionary platform in Corvette history, supporting the widest range of American sports cars and delivering world-class performance at every level,” he added.
This is what Chevrolet offers its clients with the 2026 Corvette ZR1X.
Vehicle specifications
The aforementioned vehicle is equipped with a turbocharged LT7 twin turbo V8 gasoline-propelled engine and an electric front-drive unit that can deliver a combined output of 1,250 horsepower (hp).
Here’s what the internal combustion engine and electric can individually provide:
Engine |
Maximum output (in hp) |
Peak torque (in Newton-meters) |
LT7 twin-turbo V8 |
1,064 |
1,123 |
Front-axle motor |

Power is sent to its wheels via an eight-speed dual clutch transmission (in electric all-wheel-drive [eAWD> configuration), which allows it to run 0-60 miles per hour (mph; approximately 0-100 kilometers per hour[kph>) in under two seconds (based on General Motors’ internal test) and cover a quarter mile in less than nine seconds with a trap speed of over 150 mph (around 241 kph).

Fitted in the LT7 twin-turbo V8 are the following:
- Dual 76-mm turbochargers
- A “maniturbo” exhaust design that combines the manifold and turbocharger housing — improving throttle response by decreasing time needed to build boost
- Dynamic anti-lag controls that maintain turbo speed when off-throttle in certain situations
The engine gives power to the rear wheels while an electric motor paired with a 1.9 kilowatt-hour battery pack turns the wheels for the front axle. Chevrolet said that the Corvette ZR1X’s two energy sources have no physical connection and that the charging of the electrified propulsion system takes place through regenerative efforts from the front drive unit.
Technologies
The Corvette ZR1X’s eAWD chassis controls system underwent a significant upgrade since it was first fitted for the E-Ray. On track, the vehicle takes advantage of its energy strategies designed to maximize electrified output based on track session demands and driver preferences.

Further, the PTM Pro (which new for 2026 Corvettes) delivers the purest driving experience by turning off traction and stability control while keeping the following technologies active:
- Regen Brake Torque Vectoring
- Front Axle Pre-Control
- Launch Control
Stopping power comes from Alcon 10-piston front and six-piston rear calipers mated to 16.5-inch front and rear carbon-ceramic rotors (the largest diameter rotors ever offered on Corvette).

Chevrolet shared during its tests, J59-equipped Corvettes achieve 1.9G of deceleration from 180 to 120 mph.
Variants, unit production
Moreover, the Chevrolet ZR1X is offered in two chassis configurations that both feature magnetic ride control:
- Standard: comes with Michelin PS4S tires
- ZTK Performance Package: outfitted with Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires
Buyers of the Chevrolet ZR1X can have the Carbon Aero package (which is already tailored on the ZTK option) to the standard chassis version.

Available in coupe and hardtop variants, the all- Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X will be tailored with a three-screen layout and reimagined console design, real-time vehicle data provided by the built-in Performance App.
All examples will be built at General Motors’ Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky, with every LT7 engine hand-assembled by the master engine builders at the Bowling Green Performance Build Center.
Further details on price and availability will be shared closer to production.
