3 reasons why the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum is worth the extra dough

Ford Philippines just rolled out the newest trim of the Territory Hybrid, the Platinum.

Now sitting at the top of the variant hierarchy and sporting a price tag that’s P56,000 more than the Titanium grade, we look at three reasons why spending the extra money might be worth it.

Extra exterior 

It would be easy to tell if a Ford Territory Hybrid is a Platinum model because it has bold letters that say so at the front and at the back. 

One of the updates it brings to the nameplate is the “PLATINUM” lettering on the hood that matches well with its new two-tone bumper. Together with its “coast-to-coast” LED daytime running lights, Ford Philippines believes that the vehicle leaves a bold visual impression and accentuates its girth.

The familiar “HYBRID” wording on the door cladding is still there, but it now has gloss black side mirrors, a blacked-out roof, gloss black roof rails, and a black shark-fin antenna. The side profile is further highlighted by a set of new 19-inch wheels fitted with 235/50-series Goodyear tires. 

New to the back of the Ford Territory Hybrid Titanium is the “PLATINUM” badging and a power tailgate, for added convenience.

On that note, reason number one is enough to justify the extra cost since everyone will know you’re driving the range-topping variant.

Plushier cabin 

While reason number one will be more appreciated by those who sit behind the wheel (who enjoy nods of approval from other drivers and Forrd Territory Hybrid owners), reason number two might be for the passengers.

See, Ford Philippines upped the quality of the crossover’s interior of the new top-of-the-line trim. 

Reminding everyone of their money’s worth are “PLATINUM” scuff plates and “PLATINUM” design-quilted leather seats at the front—with ventilation of course.

It even has a two-panel panoramic sunroof, so the wife can take stunning in-car selfies with the kids, 12-inch infotainment display with a 10-speaker Arkamys Soundstage audio system (with a 320-watt amplifier and a nine-band equalizer), and a “digital scent,” which allows drivers to create an ambient scentscape that delivers a premium experience for the senses. 

This, added to the list of familiar features like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, as well as a dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control system (with smart air filtration system) with dedicated vents for those taking the second row, make any trip worthwhile.

Bolstered safety 

And for people who place safety as a top priority, the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum gets a traffic jam assist and integrated cruise assist. On top of its list of safety technologies. 

Pricing 

The Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum is currently offered at an introductory price of P1.655 million.
