Ford PH to launch Territory Hybrid Platinum?

MANILA: Did Ford Philippines just tease the Territory Hybrid's Platinum variant? 

Such a speculation was spurred by an invitation from the Blue Oval marque's local wing, in which the front fascia of the electrified crossover can be seen with the “PLATINUM” on the bonnet. 

The slide was overlaid with the words “A NEW FORD.” 

At the time of writing, the nameplate is offered to Filipino car buyers in two variants: Trend and Titanium X.

What to expect 

The Department of Energy (DOE) has included the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum in its list of approved new-energy vehicles. 

Specifications of the model were also published, noting that the upcoming trim level will get the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine, paired with a battery that has a capacity of 1.83 kilowatt-hours. 

Based on the data shared by the agency, the internal combustion engine makes approximately 147 horsepower, while the electric motor can put out as much as 214 horses. 

Measuring 4,685 millimeters (mm) long, 1,935 mm wide, and 1,706 mm tall, the exterior appears to get new appointments. The photo included in the approved electric vehicle list shows that the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum will have an updated front end, rear bumper, wheels, and dome. 

Possible launch date 

While Ford Philippines did not disclose the actual release date (as well as the pricing) of the upcoming Territory Hybrid variant, the invitation is scheduled for August 7, Friday. 

On that note, more details about the new variant will be reported on the stated date.
