2026 Toyota GR PH Cup final leg to push through on Oct.

MANILA: The final leg of the 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup will push through next month, Toyota Motor Philippines confirmed,

The motorsport series’ season finale for the year—set for October 24 at the Clark International Speedway—will take place after being deferred due to the inclement weather conditions, which also resulted to flooding and heavy traffic jams along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

Such an announcement also further builds excitement for the possible inclusion of the the Toyota GR 86 in the races following TGR Philippines’ social media post that showed the sports car running with the one-make race series staples, the Vios and Tamaraw.

This also boosts Zigwheels Philippines’ belief on the nameplate having its own category, given the good following seen in the number of participants joining track days during previous race weekends.

However, Toyota Motor Philippines has yet to confirm the GR 86’s participation in the TGR Philippine Cup.

To note, the car’s stock powertrain is made up of a 2.4-liter engine paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission. Such configuration can churn the following figures:

Aside from that, the racing series will likely continue to serve as a “rolling laboratory for the use of biofuels in races.”
