“As the Philippines accelerates toward an electrified future, today’s car buyers are no longer satisfied with simply going electric. They are now looking for vehicles that deliver real-world practicality, proven safety, long-range capability, and everyday convenience,” GAC Motor Philippines wrote in a press release.

“GAC Philippines is at the forefront of this shift, setting a new benchmark in electric mobility with its proprietary AEP 3.0 platform, now underpinning the GAC Aion V. As more Filipinos explore Battery electric vehicles or BEVs, this latest innovation marks a clear transition where electric driving evolves from an alternative into a superior everyday choice,” it added.

    Purpose-built platform

    GAC Group’s AEP 3.0 is a fully self-developed next-generation electric vehicle architecture.

Unlike adapted platforms that retrofit internal combustion designs for electric use, it is built for electric vehicles (EV) from the ground up, AEP 3.0 delivers efficiency, safety, and performance in one unified platform.

This dedicated EV framework — GAC Motor Philippines pointed out — introduces measurable engineering advantages that directly benefit drivers.

It has a high-efficiency electric drive system that can achieve over 90 percent energy conversion efficiency, which helps maximize battery charging and driving range.

The platform also features a fully integrated battery layout that lowers the vehicle’s center of gravity by as much as 20 percent compared to traditional combustion vehicles.

When it comes to structural integrity, the GAC Group integrated the battery into the vehicle’s architecture, improving overall body rigidity by up to 15 to 20 percent.

As a result, the GAC Aion V — which uses the said platform — is more stable, responsive, and exciting to drive; balancing both power and control to uplift the daily commute.

In addition, not only does it offer better handling but also increased passenger protection in the event of a collision.

Further, the platform’s intelligent energy management system can improve efficiency by around 10 to 15 percent compared to non-dedicated EV platforms, ensuring consistent performance even in demanding tropical conditions.

“With 20 years of co-engineering experience alongside Toyota and Honda, GAC has evolved from a partner into a technology leader. The AEP 3.0 platform is now so advanced that it reciprocally empowers global heritage brands, establishing it as the trusted choice of the world's elite manufacturers,” GAC Motor Philippines highlighted.

GAC Aion V as a practical family BEV

With the AEP 3.0 platform, the GAC Aion V stands out as a practical and future-ready electric sport utility vehicle designed for Filipino households.

It combines space, performance, and intelligent technology in a way that makes the transition to electric driving seamless.

One of its most compelling features is its driving range of over 600 kilometers (km) on a single charge, which allows drivers to complete several days of city driving or long-distance trips with fewer charging stops.

To put into picture the abovementioned figure, the said range can cover routes such as Manila to Ilocos or Manila to Bicol with proper planning, significantly reducing range anxiety.

Charging convenience is likewise impressive. The GAC Aion V can charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in approximately 20 minutes, which can restore more than 300 kilometers of driving range in a short stop.

Such practice makes the vehicle highly practical for daily use, even for those with busy schedules.

Efficiency also translates into savings. Compared to traditional fuel-powered vehicles, EVs like the GAC Aion V can reduce energy costs by up to 50 to 70 percent per km, while maintenance expenses can be lower by around 30 to 50 percent due to fewer moving parts.

    Protection, comfort

Touted as a modern family car, the GAC Aion V is built with safety at its core.

Its structure uses 1,500 Megapascal ultra-high-strength hot-formed submarine-grade steel, which is up to three times stronger than conventional automotive materials — thereby creating a reinforced safety cell designed to better absorb and distribute impact forces during collisions.

Occupants are protected by a comprehensive seven-airbag system, which includes extended side curtain airbags measuring 2.3 meters in length, designed to cover both front and rear passengers.

These airbags, according to GAC Motor Philippines, can maintain pressure for up to six seconds, offering sustained protection during multi-impact scenarios.

Outside safety, the GAC Aion V also comes with comfort and convenience appointments like a large 14.6-inch infotainment display, intuitive voice controls, and wireless charging capability.

The cabin can also transform into a fully flat resting space with a one-touch reclining function, complemented by a built-in refrigerator in the center console that enhances convenience during long drives or heavy traffic conditions.

    Limited-time offer

As more Filipinos make the shift to electric mobility, GAC Motor Philippines is making ownership more accessible.

Until May 31, 2026, the GAC Aion V is available at a special price, giving customers a compelling opportunity to experience next-generation electric driving at exceptional value.
