Mober opens EV charging hub in Pasay

MANILA: Green logistics fleet provider Mober inaugurated its flagship electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in Pasay City.

The 800-square-meter facility is equipped with 30 units of seven-kilowatt (kW) chargers that will be used by Mober’s fleet for Ikea Philippines. Mober has invested P2 million for the construction of the EV charging hub.

“We strategically opted for this charging capacity as our EV fleet remains dormant during nighttime, allowing optimal charging without overwhelming the grid,” Mober Chief Executive Officer Dennis Ng stated.

According to Ng, Mober is also planning to install 22-kW chargers in Cavite, Laguna, and Bulacan.

“This inauguration symbolizes not just a milestone but a beacon of our overarching blueprint for an environmentally conscious logistic framework and we are just getting started,” Ng said.

Beyond infrastructure, Mober's innovative partnership model offers businesses an unprecedented benefit by helping them to switch to eco-friendly delivery operations with no upfront expenses, thereby expanding access to sustainable logistics. This partnership plays a vital role in enticing more businesses to adopt green logistics.

Mober’s charging hub is exclusive to its fleet to ensure efficient service to their partners. The company currently has a total of 60 vehicles in its fleet and targets to accumulate a fleet of 100 electric vans and trucks by the end of the year.

Established in 2015, Mober is a business-to-business platform that helps major retailers like Ikea Philippines, SM Appliance Center, Nestle Philippines, and Nespresso provide sustainable delivery.
