  • Cavitex C5 Link Segment 2 is a 1.9-kilometer, 2x3-lane expressway that will connect Cavitex R-1 (Coastal Road) from Parañaque Toll Plaza to Sucat via R-1 Interchange. Travel time from Cavitex R-1 to Sucat Road and vice versa is anticipated to be shortened by 10 minutes.

CIC President and General Manager Raul Ignacio and CRBC Philippines General Manager Ren Xiaopeng participated in the signing ceremony.

“The Cavitex C5 Link is a vital segment of the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway Project, so far, we managed to open 3.8 kilometers to the motoring public, serving more than 16,000 vehicles daily. Still, we have a long way to go. This is something we cannot do alone, hence our search for a contractor that would be up for the task-delivering world-class quality infrastructure for our motorists within our timeline. We are glad that our new partner China Road and Bridge Corporation took on the challenge,” Ignacio stated.

With nearly 60 years of experience, CRBC is a leader in China's market for international engineering contracts. The company concentrates on international civil engineering projects such dredging, airports, ports, tunnels, trains, and municipal work. Since it has been operating in the Philippines for almost 30 years, CRBC has completed several projects across many regions, and because of their great quality and prompt completion, these projects have spurred local development. The Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge, Binondo-Intramuros Bridge, and Phase 1 Package 2 of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) are just some of them.

The Cavitex C5 Link Segment 2 is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, with phase 2 of construction set to begin this first quarter.

Meanwhile, work on Segment 3-B from Sucat to E. Rodriguez (RSG Subdivision) is scheduled to start in the third quarter of the year, according to the latest project timeline provided by CIC.

The 7.7-kilometer, 2x3-lane Cavitex C5 Link project will link Cavitex R1 to C5 Road in Taguig. It is anticipated to serve 40,000 motorists per day, cutting the travel time to Makati and Taguig from Parañaque City, Las Piñas City, and Cavite by 45 minutes.

CIC is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road development arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).

Aside from Cavitex and Cavitex C5 Link, MPTC also owns the concessions for Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), NLEX Connector Road, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).
