Xpeng commences X9 pre-order period ahead of PH brand launch

MANILA: Ahead of the brand’s debut later this month, Xpeng Philippines has started the reservation period for the X9.

In a statement, the Guangzhou-headquartered marque’s local subsidiary said customers may pre-order a unit of the fully electric, seven-seat model for P25,000. Upon delivery, customers will automatically receive P10,000 worth of charging credits and an exclusive Xpeng First Circle Gift Set.

Only a limited number of units from the first batch are available for reservation.

“The interest and inquiries we have received ahead of the official launch reflect the growing anticipation for the X9,” Xpeng Southeast Asia Region General Manager Sam Chu said.

“In response, we are opening pre-sales early to give interested customers the opportunity to reserve their X9 before we officially begin retail sales later this month.”

The company said the campaign marks an important step in Xpeng’s Philippine entry and reflects its commitment to bringing premium mobility and artificial intelligence technology to Filipino customers, led by a flagship model that has already gained strong market acceptance across the region.

Here’s what the Philippine-market Xpeng X9 will offer once it goes on sale locally.

Vehicle specifications

The Xpeng X9 sports a Starship-inspired design, with a 0.236 drag coefficient. Its sharp angular lines and streamlined silhouette give it a dynamic, contemporary presence while veering away from the upright, box-like profile associated with large multi-purpose vehicles.

Inside, the Xpeng X9 offers a spacious seven-seat cabin with premium materials, flexible cargo space, active rear-wheel steering, refined passenger comfort, intelligent features, and a suite of safety systems.

Powering the soon-to-be-retailed Xpeng X9 is a front-mounted electric motor that produces:

The motor draws energy from a 110-kilowatt-hour (kWh) nickel-cobalt-manganese battery, giving the vehicle a 615-kilometer driving range based on Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) standards.

This allows the X9 to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.75 seconds, while its claimed energy consumption is 20 kWh per 100 km (WLTP).

Built on Xpeng’s full 800-volt high-voltage silicon-carbide platform, the X9 supports a peak direct-current charging rate of up to 542 kW.

When connected to a compatible high-capacity charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 12 minutes. Destination charging supports up to 11 kW of AC charging, with a charging time of approximately 11 hours from five to 100 percent.

The X9 also has a six-kilowatt vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, allowing its battery to supply electricity to compatible appliances and external equipment during outdoor activities, events, or temporary power interruptions.

The active rear-wheel-steering system provides a 5.4-meter minimum turning radius, a maximum rear-wheel angle of five degrees, and an average steering-angle reduction of 42 percent.

Its intelligent dual-chamber air-suspension system can increase ground clearance from 100 to 190 mm. The vehicle’s AI chassis can scan the road ahead and prepare the suspension response before reaching changes in the road surface, helping reduce the impact of bumps and maintain a more composed ride.

The X9 features a flat, step-free interior floor that creates more usable cabin space, while full-grain Nappa leather covers the first and second rows.

It also has a 180-mm central aisle and a one-touch Easy Entry function, along with power-adjustable backrests and headrests, seat heating, cupholders, and dedicated controls.

Luggage capacity ranges from 721 to 2,554 liters with the third row stowed.

Its air-conditioning system utilizes windless surround-climate technology, taking advantage of more than 6,000 micro air outlets around the vehicle to distribute gentle airflow across the second and third rows.
