Aion Hyptec HT

Upon entering the Aion Hyptec HT’s ‘multi-dimensional comfort’ cabin, you are greeted by an abundance of soft-touch materials and a premium contrast of colours. Its Nappa leather seats just hug your body so comfortably. Its first row is a very nice place to be in, while the second row has adequate legroom and kneeroom for three passengers. However, headroom is a bit compromised at the rear due to this SUV’s sloping/coupe-like roofline. But, on the plus side, it comes with a generous 670-L trunk space at the back.

The drivers have access to an 8.88-inch HD full-LCD instrument panel and an ultra fiber leather steering wheel, which is very good-to-the-touch. For entertainment and information accessibility, this SUV comes with a 14.6-inch HD touch control central screen that offers Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and FM radio. Its infotainment is paired with a 22-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system. The driver’s seat also comes with a headrest audio feature for a more immersive experience.

Aside from these, the Hyptec HT also comes with four USB ports (front: 3, rear: 1), front and back 12V power sockets, and a wireless charger. Its cabin can also deliver that ‘aesthetic’ lighting courtesy of its intelligent ambient lighting system and heat-insulating panoramic sunroof.

For starters, the Aion Hyptec HT model line measures 4,935 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,700 mm in height. This SUV also comes with a 2,935-mm wheelbase and a 158-mm ground clearance (fully-loaded). 

The Aion Hyptec HT flaunts a smart, hypermodern design, which exudes a mix of confidence and elegance on the road. Upfront, it sports a smooth fascia, which is already a common sight among new-gen EVs. It has an assertive-looking flare courtesy of its angular LED automatic headlights with LED DRLs. 

On the side, its futuristic silhouette is very evident. The higher-spec Ultra flexes its rear gullwing and front electric doors, while the base Premium gets the standard frameless doors. This SUV runs on aerodynamic-looking 20-inch alloy wheels (Premium: Aero-Blade, Ultra: Trident-Shield). And for more modernity, it also comes with flush door handles. 

Furthermore, its back end is illuminated by sharp LED taillights with a sleek light strip in the middle. It also comes with LED fog lights for enhanced visibility, especially at night. Both variants come with an electric tailgate for easier loading and unloading of cargo.

In terms of suspension, the Aion Hyptec HT line comes with a Double Wishbone independent-type at the front and a Five-Link independent-type at the rear. In the city, it soaks up bumps and other road imperfections effortlessly, leading to a supple and very pleasant riding experience for all passengers. It can also handle sharp turns or corners decently, with minimal body rolls. Overall, this EV is very enjoyable to drive inside the city and on the highway.

Both variants of the Aion Hyptec HT run on a single permanent magnet synchronous motor, which delivers 250 kW and 380 Nm of torque. Its motor is paired with an 83-kWh battery that offers a 620-km NEDC driving range. Using a DC fast charger, its battery can be replenished from 10% to 70% in just 15 minutes. This SUV utilizes a rear-wheel drivetrain. 

This SUV’s electric powertrain offers smooth and instantaneous power delivery off the line. It feels lively when you are cruising on the highway. Meanwhile, in the city, it offers impressive efficiency. It is also capable of taking on shorter-distance trips out of town.

The Aion Hyptec HT comes with the brand’s ADiGO Intelligent Driving System, which includes a 360-degree parking camera (surround view), front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, integrated cruise assistance, forward and rear collision warning, lane departure warning and prevention, intelligent high beam control, blind spot detection, door open warning, and rear crossing traffic alert.

This SUV comes with front and rear ventilated disc brakes. Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and electronic stability control, hydraulic brake assist, as well as hill-hold assist control with hill-descent assist control among others.
