Ferrari SF90 Stradale

Like all the other Ferraris on sale right now, the cabin layout of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is driver-centric, with all the elements and layers of the cabin focusing on the driver. The overall cabin might not be too feature-rich, but looks new-age with a lot of sportiness visible in the components and elements used in the cabin.

The typical Ferrari sporty steering wheel, which has been shared with the F8, has multiple capacitive touch controls on either side and has a large and wide 16-inch curved instrument console behind it. The minimalist asymmetric centre console has a small display for the vehicle data and infotainment system provided in the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, while the smoothly flowing upper layer of the dashboard has a premium soft-touch leather finish.

At the front, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale has inverted L-shaped stretched all-LED headlamps, which have daytime running LEDs in their lower outer corners. The cab-forward design of the SF90 Stradale hides radiators and cooling requirements of the hybrid system effectively, with neatly integrated hollows and air cavities on the bonnet and front bumper. 

The side profile of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale exhibits the swooping and highly aerodynamic appeal of the supercar in its best form, with curves flowing over the fenders and through the door panels, which also have neatly integrated air passages for facilitating airflow and downforce at higher speeds. The swooping rounded wheel arches have large and gorgeous-looking 20-inch alloy wheels with low-profile tyres below them.

At the back, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale continues to impress with its twin-part rear wing, which has been designed with the inspiration coming from the drag reduction system used in Formula One cars. This rear wing has a fixed element stretching towards the split LED tail lamps, while the massive rear bumper of the supercar has nostril-shaped exhaust ports on either side of the central part. The rear diffuser looks massive too, with angularly-placed elements allowing effective downforce at higher speeds.

Made of aluminium and carbon fibre of higher orders, the chassis of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale has a total dry weight of 1,570 kg, including the 270 kg of the electric system offered in it. Being a range-topping supercar, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale focuses highly on driving dynamics, with it having electric side slip control for optimal torque distribution to all four wheels, RAC-e (rotation axis control electric) torque vectoring system, electric traction control and new-generation brake-by-wire system. It also has four driving modes – eDrive, Hybrid, Performance and Qualify – on offer, which can be altered through the eManettino knob on the steering wheel.

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale has the first-ever plug-in hybrid powertrain from Ferrari, which is a combination of a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine and three electric motors – two motors for each of the front wheels and a single motor for the rear wheels. While the engine churns out 780 PS of power, the motors produce a combined power output of 220 PS. In total, the powertrain claims 1000 PS of maximum power and 800 Nm of maximum torque.

Paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, this powertrain enables the Ferrari SF90 Stradale to attain a top speed of 340 kmph and cover the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 2.5 seconds. The powertrain also has a 7.9kWh lithium-ion battery, which is responsible for regenerative braking and provides 26 km of pure electric-only range. 

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is equipped with the essentials, when it comes to safety, with the supercar having front and side airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, reverse parking sensors and camera, blind spot monitoring, traction control, electronic stability program and hill assist.
