Bristol Veloce 500

In terms of dimensions, the Bristol Veloce 500 measures 2,156 mm in length, 850 mm in width, 1,177 mm in overall height, and 760 mm in seat height. This scrambler also comes with a 1,460-mm wheelbase and a 190-mm ground clearance.

The Veloce 500’s neo-retro design has aged remarkably well and still looks great to this day. Up front, it features a very classic round LED headlamp assembly with a daytime running light (DRL). It also gets a pair of conventional-looking signal lights for better visibility, both on- and off-road. Additionally, this scrambler is fitted with round mirrors and a small body-coloured front fender underneath.

Moreover, its side profile exudes a balance of ruggedness and sophistication, complemented by a stylish blend of sleek body paint and shiny monotone finishes. This scrambler features a blacked-out engine guard with the “BRISTOL” lettering, silver dual exhaust pipes, and visible catalytic converters finished in a bronze-like shade, giving its silhouette more detail. 

Aside from that, a prominent Bristol logo is also placed on its curvaceous fuel tank. This scrambler is fitted with spoked wheels (front: 18-inch, rear: 17-inch) wrapped in Pirelli MT-60 tyres. At the back, its sharp-looking rear is illuminated by a slim LED tail light strip and another pair of signal lights.

For a stronger neo-retro appeal, this scrambler is equipped with a small fully-digital instrument panel that displays the odometer, speedometer, gear indicator, and temperature gauge. Its classy leather seat is plush and supportive, but a bit narrow on the pillion side. On the plus side, this scrambler comes with metal foot pegs and pillion footrests, making low-speed filters more manageable for the passenger. Lastly, the rider gets raised handlebars that promote a comfortable, upright riding position, making the bike suitable for both extended rides and light off-road trips.

The Bristol Veloce 500 is equipped with a KYB Inverted Fork suspension at the front and a KYB Monoshock with adjustable preload at the rear. This setup allows this scrambler to effectively soak up light off-road terrain and bumpy, uneven city roads, resulting in a supple riding experience for both you and your passenger. While it may not be the most sharp and confident through twists and turns, it still feels light and nimble to maneuver around the city.

The Bristol Veloce 500 is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a Bosch electronic fuel injection (EFI) system, delivering 47 hp of maximum power and 43 Nm of maximum torque. This scrambler runs on 6-speed manual transmission. 

That said, its engine delivers ample power and torque for everyday city rides, highway cruises, and even light trail explorations. It is capable of tackling steep rural inclines and overtaking slower vehicles on free-flowing expressways. Although it may not be the most refined at lower speeds, this scrambler offers great fuel efficiency in heavy traffic. However, vibrations on the pillion’s side could still be improved in the future.

In terms of braking, the Bristol Veloce 500 comes with dual discs with dual 4-piston Nissin calipers at the front and a single disc with a single-piston Nissin caliper at the rear. Its braking setup is also supported by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system. That said, another big highlight of this scrambler is its advanced braking setup’s very responsive stopping performance, even at high speeds.

The Bristol Veloce 500 is a versatile motorcycle that delivers a supple and very satisfying experience both in the city and on light off-road trails. It also impressively combines everyday city usability with exciting yet manageable highway performance.
