Bristol Zontes 703F

For starters, the Bristol Zontes 703F measures 2,305 mm in length, 940 mm in width, 1,395 mm in overall height, and 835 mm in seat height. This adventure bike also has a wheelbase of 1,550 mm and a ground clearance of 205 mm, which enhance its overall off-road capability.

Appearance-wise, the Bristol Zontes 703F looks rugged and futuristic at the same time, highlighted by its curved, fairing-mounted LED daytime running lights (DRL). This adventure bike produces a strong beam from its rectangular LED headlights. It is also equipped with auxiliary lights, ensuring maximum visibility both on- and off-road. Additionally, an electronically-adjustable windscreen adds more modern touch and functionality to its overall design.

Up front, the rider gets a TFT instrument panel that supports smartphone connectivity for easier control and enhanced rider convenience overall. You also get a USB charging port for your mobile phone. Practicality-wise, this adventure bike is already fitted with brackets for side panniers and a top box.

Although the Zontes 703F may not have the plushest saddle in its segment, it still offers ample cushioning and support for the rider, whether covering long distances on the highway or exploring light off-road trails. Its pillion seat, on the other hand, could still be improved in terms of cushioning and width. On the plus side, this adventure bike is equipped with rubberized rider foot pegs and metal pillion footrests.

Going back to design. Meanwhile, its fighter jet-like silhouette is complemented by vibrant branding decals and a robust-looking pair of spoked wheels (19-inch at the front, 17-inch at the rear) wrapped in Michelin tyres. This adventure motorcycle also features a blacked-out engine guard and a prominent body-coloured exhaust pipe. At the rear, it features hypermodern-looking LED tail lights, pod-shaped signal lights, and a small third brake light.

In terms of suspension, the Bristol Zontes 703F features an adjustable Marzocchi-branded setup comprising an Upside-Down Fork at the front and a Monoshock at the rear. The 703F’s capable suspension gives it a versatile character, allowing it to handle light to moderate off-road terrain while keeping humps and potholes under control on city roads. 

It also delivers impressive grip and stability when carving corners at higher speeds. Overall, its suspension setup strikes a well-balanced compromise between comfort and sportiness, allowing it to deliver a smooth and confidence-inspiring ride wherever it goes.

The Bristol Zontes 703F is powered by a 699cc 3-cylinder, 12-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 71.5 kW (96 hp) of maximum power and 76 Nm of maximum torque. This adventure bike runs on 6-speed constant mesh (manual) transmission and is equipped with two riding modes: Eco and Sport.

That said, its engine offers plenty of power and torque for quick expressway overtakes and steep provincial inclines. It can get up to speed easily while producing a satisfying roar as you climb through rev range. Additionally, its gearbox is quite smooth and responsive, enhancing the rider’s overall cruising experience. And, on top of that, it delivers respectable fuel efficiency for its displacement.

In terms of braking, the Bristol Zontes 703F comes with dual discs, with a J.Juan 4-piston caliper at the front. Its braking setup is supported by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system, as well as a traction control system. This adventure bike is also equipped with a built-in crash guard, the aforementioned auxiliary lights, and a dashcam. 

In my opinion, the Bristol Zontes 703F is a very well-rounded entry into the adventure-touring segment. Its capability both on- and off-road, as well as its modern performance and technology, make it an appealing choice among both spirited expressway cruisers and trail explorers.
