Appearance-wise, the Ducati Scrambler Nightshift looks macho and sophisticated at the same time. Up front, its round LED headlamp with an LED DRL is fitted with a new X-shaped cover, giving it a distinctive look compared with other cafe racers on the road. It also gets round LED signal lights for enhanced visibility, especially at night. Additionally, this naked cafe racer features round bar-end mirrors for a more classic touch.

Furthermore, it flaunts a sporty, brutish-looking side profile, accentuated by a blacked-out exhaust with a silver tip, some shiny aluminum accents, as well as spoke wheels (front: 18-inch, rear: 17-inch) wrapped in Pirelli MT tyres. Meanwhile, at the back, it sports a modern-looking curved LED tail lamp with another pair of round turn signals.

It is nimble enough to maneuver through tight traffic and narrow streets while remaining confident and sharp on winding rural roads. It also soaks up light bumps and other minor road imperfections quite well. Overall, the Ducati Scrambler Nightshift offers a balance of enjoyment and everyday city rideability.

The Ducati Scrambler Nightshift is powered by the brand’s 803cc air-cooled, Desmodromic Distribution L-Twin engine that delivers a maximum power output of 73 hp and a maximum torque output of 65 Nm. This naked cafe racer comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and two selectable (standard) riding modes: Road and Sport. 

With this in mind, the Scrambler Nightshift is one of those neo-retro motorcycles that delivers an exciting highway experience while remaining approachable for less-experienced riders. It feels very peppy and responsive off the line, thanks to its optimized weight. In addition, this naked cafe racer offers adequate power and torque for quick expressway overtakes. Another notable improvement is its better heat management for the rider, although heat exposure on the pillion’s side remains an area that could use further refinement.

The Ducati Scrambler Nightshift is equipped with disc brakes, supported by a radial Brembo 4-piston caliper at the front and a floating Brembo 1-piston caliper at the rear. This naked cafe racer also comes with multiple electronic rider aids, such as an upgraded cornering anti-lock braking system, a standard anti-lock braking system, a traction control system, as well as the aforementioned two riding modes, Sport and Road. This naked cafe racer also has a slipper clutch feature and an immobilizer for added safety at all times.

In my opinion, the Ducati Scrambler Nightshift is currently one of the most well-rounded cafe racers in the local market. It delivers an impressive mix of style, comfort, exciting performance, and modern technology both in the city and out on the open road.
