Limited torque output, struggles on mild inclines
Even with my own body weight—no cargo, no passenger—the Hatasu Kumi seemed to struggle once I hit an incline. I thought the 350W motor of this two-wheeler would manage mild slopes, but as soon as the gradient increased, the acceleration started fading dramatically. In these situations, the limited torque output of the motor becomes very apparent. As it tries to push forward, you can easily feel the strain, but the momentum is not there. I had to dismount and walk the scooter with lots of struggle up the hill, which definitely defeated the convenience factor that is generally associated with e-bikes.
