Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX

The Suzuki Burgman Street was always a handsome-looking scooter with many busy-looking body panels, making it look like a conventional maxi-scooter on the lines of larger Burgmans from Suzuki’s global portfolio. With this new EX version, Suzuki has taken the bars higher by making it look even more premium and proportionate than ever before.

The entire bodywork of the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is the same as the standard Burgman Street, with the only visual highlight here being the larger rear wheel. While the standard Burgman Street comes with a 10-inch rear wheel, the new Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX gets a larger 12-inch alloy wheel at the rear, which makes the scooter look more proportionate than ever before.

The rest of the design of the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX remains unchanged, with Suzuki retaining the maxi-scooter persona of the standard Burgman Street. The front profile continues to have a busy-looking apron, with a small transparent windscreen at the top and a wide V-shaped all-LED headlamp at the bottom. There are two chrome garnished lines flowing from the top of the apron to the upper edges of the headlamp, which make the front profile look even more premium.

The C-shaped clear lens turn indicators are placed on the front edges of the side panels of the front fairing. The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX gets a large and well-accommodating floorboard, which is roomy enough even for the tallest of the riders. The scooter gets a nice-looking and wide handlebar with good quality switches, behind which sits a full-LCD instrument console which also gets Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

Towards the rear, the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX continues to possess its visual bulk, with the side panels getting dual-tone treatment and curves which exaggerate their size even more. At the back, the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX gets a wide and curvy LED tail lamp, flanked with clear lens turn indicators while also getting a nice-looking chrome garnish element at the bottom and a large curvy single pillion grab rail above it.

The welcome addition of a 12-inch rear wheel in the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX has not only made it look proportionate and bulkier at the rear but also enhanced its ride quality and handling. With the larger rear wheel, the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX now handles even better, with the scooter’s 12-inch rear wheels wrapped with a 90/90-12 tyre at the front and a 100/80-12 tyre at the rear. The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX continues to get a conventional suspension setup, comprising telescopic forks at the front and a single coil spring at the rear. This version of the Burgman Street has been provided with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear as standard.

There are no changes to the powertrain of the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX, with it retaining the four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 125cc engine from the standard Burgman Street. This engine is paired with a conventional V-belt automatic transmission while claiming 8.5 PS of maximum power and 10 Nm of maximum torque outputs.

The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX misses out on ABS and external fuel filler, but it gets a few decent safety features like a key shutter mechanism for the ignition keyhole, a lockable under-seat storage space, a small cubbyhole integrated into the back of the apron with USB charger and a front disc brake.

The Suzuki Burgman Street was already a premium scooter for its size and price, and this EX version takes care of the small concerns of the former with the addition of the larger rear wheel, which makes it look and ride better than the standard version.
