Recent Updates of Hayabusa GSX-R1300

The Hayabusa is one of the most recognizable, well known and revered motorcycles to have ever been sold. The GSX R1300 Hayabusa was one of the last remnants of the speed wars which also makes it one of the most extreme motorcycle. Its bulbous aerodynamic shape and a massive dual valved, fuel injected and liquid cooled inline four 1340 cc engine allow it to reach a top speed of 312 km/h. That engine output today is 200 PS of peak power and 155 Nm of peak torque. The present-day model is also now limited to a top speed of 299 km/h. The bike also enjoys great stability and competent handling thanks to a fully adjustable suspension setup including KYB inverted cassette type suspension, massive 120 section front and 190 section rear tires. The transmission is a 6 speed setup. There are plenty of electronic aids to help keep the bike performing including clutch assist, idle speed control, selectable drive mode and ABS. Massive Brembo brakes are also standard. The bike last received an update in 2008 and since then has been discontinued in European markets. The GSX R1300 Hayabusa is however still on sale in the Philippine market for a price of Php 924000.

Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 Review 2024

One of the most legendary motorcycles to be engineered by mankind, the Suzuki Hayabusa has been in existence even in today. The motorcycle, with its very familiar styling and high-speed riding dynamics, has won many accolades and praises in all these years. The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 is available in the Philippines in three different paint shades of white, black, and red.

Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 Design

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 was designed keeping only one aim in the mind. That is to make it as aerodynamic as possible in order to make it sustainable to towering speeds. In the process, Suzuki has made a timeless design, which makes the motorcycle look quite bulbous and large enough to grab many eyeballs. However, in all these years, the overall design has remained almost unchanged, with the current one being in existence for almost a decade now. This sole aspect makes the Hayabusa GSX-R1300 look slightly dated.

At the front, the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 has got a large curvaceous fairing, which comes with a tongue-shaped projector headlamp assembly and teardrop-shaped turn indicators with air scoops on either side. The curvy windshield at the top of the fairing helps in decimating windblasts at higher speeds.

The Hayabusa GSX-R1300 looks quite gargantuan when viewed from the side, as the motorcycle has got a very big fuel tank. Also, a large amount of bodywork covers the engine as well as side frame. The curvy side body panels, as well as large exhausts, on either side enhance the bulky appeal of the motorcycle even further.

At the rear, the Hayabusa GSX-R1300’s LED tail lamp mimics the shape of the front headlamp, and so do the turn indicators on either side. The motorcycle comes with split seats as standard, with the rear one getting optional body cowl. This gives the Hayabusa GSX-R1300 an impression of a single-seater motorcycle.

The fully analogue instrument console comes with a speedometer and temperature gauge on one side and tachometer and fuel gauge on the other, with a small LCD display screen for gear indicator right at the centre. It does look very comprehensive, but it has begun to show its age.

Hayabusa GSX-R1300 Ride & Handling

Crafted with supreme aerodynamics, the Suzuki Hayabusa comes fitted with inverted telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and a linked type monoshock at the rear. This suspension, along with the excellent bodywork, makes the Hayabusa GSX-R1300 stable across the entire speed band. To bring this behemoth to a halt, Suzuki has employed a twin disc brake setup at the front and a single disc brake at the rear.

Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 Engine & Fuel Consumption

Under the complex bodywork of the Hayabusa GSX-R1300 sits an equally large powertrain, which gives it the stature of the fastest motorcycle on the planet. The powerhouse is a four stroke, inline four, fuel injected, liquid cooled, 1340 cc engine. This mill produces 200 PS of maximum power output and 155 Nm of peak torque.

The engine comes with a host of technologies such as idle speed control system, pulsed-secondary air injection, and dual throttle valve system, which makes it highly sensitive to instant throttle responses. Coupled to a six-speed gearbox, this engine impresses you with its wide torque band across the entire rev range, making it equally enjoyable in both higher as well as lower revs.

Hayabusa GSX-R1300 Braking & Safety

Apart from the essential bits like three different ride modes, dual channel ABS and slipper clutch, the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 misses out on many modern electronic riding aids. This makes the motorcycle quite intimidating for the newbie riders, who might find the huge dimensions and power on tap difficult to control.

Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 Verdict

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 is surely not for those who want modern technology on their fingertips. Instead, it is purely an old school machine designed to make you proud of its high speed manners and low speed ride comfort. Even after all these years, the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R1300 commands an instant road presence which is hard to achieve. Such is the cult status of this motorcycle.
