The people of Philippines love underbones, especially those that are unreasonably fast. The Suzuki Raider name, therefore, was well known in the Philippines since long back. After its launch here, it was soon followed by its arguably better fuel injected brother. Giving them the company is their younger brother the J115i Fi. Since their launch, over 130000 models have been sold. It is highly unlikely that you don’t see a few on the roads of the Philippines. Its popularity extends into the customizing scene with a plethora of options for aftermarket upgrades. Why Suzuki took their sweet time bringing it to the Philippines then, is anyone’s guess.
The basic familiar design has remained the same but there are a few interesting touches. The race-derived tech is the primary USP of the bike and Suzuki shows it off shamelessly. From the redesigned headlamp to the copper color wheels and engine components and the painted exhaust- style is not something it lacks. It’s a low slung racing machine at its dimensions of 1,940 mm (L) x 652 mm (W) x 941 mm (H). A low seat height of 764 mm and low handlebars means that the rider actually rides on top of the bike hunkered down. This is great for handling the diminutive 106 kg frame through tight corners.
Being so lightweight on top of having a short wheelbase gives the Raider 150, very good handling characteristics. Being a bit more performance oriented, the suspension, especially in the rear is a bit firm. The wheels could also have been bigger than their current size at 70/90 - 17 in the front and 80/90 - 17 in the rear. Thankfully the seat is well cushioned and a long one at that. This allows you to move your position as the situation demands with ease. The pillion seat, however, could be too high for some people. Additionally, the handlebars are low for better handling. But that also means that you are always resting your weight on your poor wrists.
The 147.33cc oil-cooled, 4-Valve, DOHC (twincam) produces peak power of 15.42 hp at 9500 rpm. Peak torque of 12.4 Nm comes at 8500 rpm. This much brute force is enough to propel the bike to a top speed of 160 kmph - if you dare. Even otherwise you will never feel choked for power on short climbs and even highway riding. The engine is a perfect fit for the suspension setup which is meant to be the closest thing to the GSXR1000. The bike is easy to handle and eager to lean into corners. Indeed you will be itching to twist the throttle all the way, all the time. The mileage though, if you ride carefully is 30-35 kmpl.
There are wavy disc brakes on both the front and the rear wheels. They are so good that their abruptness might take some getting used to. The racing feel continues with the semi-digital instrument panel. Another handy feature would be the keyhole shutter that locks the keyhole and only opens with the back of the key. Other practical touches include a sizable under seat storage area and an engine cowl to protect it from rocks. Finding such amenities in something meant to be performance oriented only makes the deal sweeter.
The Suzuki Raider R150 was the bike which I bought very recently. In my honest opinion, I think that it is one of the best bikes to have been launched by the automaker in a long time. Why do you ask? To begin with, the bike has some really sleek looks which when paired to the style and power, makes
The Suzuki Raider R150 is a kind of an offering that has a great demand among the larger masses of the Philippines. Starting right from its minimalistic yet colorful appeal, the bike brings you an element of reliability. I’ve had a personal experience of riding this beauty and quite frankly, the bike is one of the most affordable offerings due
Affordability is always a primary factor which I have to keep into consideration while selecting my bikes. Side by side, I crave intense power and good equipment or features in my vehicle. Getting all those in a single device seemed impossible to me till I bumped into a Suzuki Raider r150. I did not hesitate at all while buying this
The Suzuki Raider R150 is one of the most popular bikes in these parts of the world. It perfectly matches style and practicality. I particularly like the blue MotoGP color. The riding comfort is superb with the wide, long, well-cushioned seat. The joy of biking ends the moment you feel uncomfortable in the saddle. With the Raider R150, it’s just
If you ask me about my choice when it comes to bikes, I am very clear about it. No bike can satisfy me with just performance and power. Rather I look out for a device on which I can implement some of my creative skill. I was seeking a device which should complement my choice in best way and that
The Suzuki Raider R150 is my first choice when it comes to really enjoying the ride to a distant location. There are many reasons to love this underbone apart from its affordability and reliability. The R150 feels so good to ride because it is very fast, thanks to its responsive 147cc engine that also delivers a powerful acceleration. This underbone
Probably the slimmest underbone that you’ll find across in the Philippines, it was this exact feature of the Suzuki Raider 150 that forced me to purchase this bike. Being an extensive user of a motorbike, my job type required me to drive almost every day, inside and outside the city. Considering this feature itself, I decided to go for this
If you are one of those riders that prefer to have a decent look paired to a powerful yet modest mill, the Suzuki Raider R150 is the right option for you. Being a similar type of rider, I recently bought the Raider R150, to use as my daily commuter. Post 25,000+ km later, I can say that this bike is
This is a very common bike that you will see mushrooming in and around the city roads. Reliability of the bike is another prominent reason to fall for this. Side by side, how can I miss out mentioning about its efficiency part? The bike is known for being fast and furious. So the moment you are riding on this bike
There are many underbone scooters available in the Philippines, but since you are here reading the reviews, I would like you to know that the Suzuki Raider is an absolute delight to look at and alto to ride. What you get with this is a very off-road designing appeal with a minimal approach and a powerful engine. These two points
