Yamaha Sight

Yamaha has developed the Sight in a very subtle, no-nonsense yet stylish design tone. A sharp headlight is fitted on the handlebar with curved rear view mirrors placed above it. Just below the handlebar, there’s a Yamaha logo and the front apron holds sharp and wide turn indicator lamps. The sides feature graphics and a 3D SIGHT logo, while the rear has an edgy tail light and a black coloured aluminium single grab rail. Moreover, the Black Raven, Yellow Hornet, and Red Metallic colour options make the Sight look more visually appealing.

Developed on a steel body backbone frame, the Sight comes fitted with a single seat with a height of 775 mm. The driver can maintain a solid posture while riding on it. With an overall length of 1940 mm and width of 715 mm, the Sight is pretty compact and sleek. To add to it is its lightweight body with a kerb weight of 94 kg, resulting in easy handling through busy streets. Suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and swingarm at the rear.

At the heart is a 114 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine that generates a max power of 8.5 hp at 7,000 rpm and peak torque of 9.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Power to the wheels is transferred through a constant mesh 4-speed transmission. The engine also comes with a fuel-injection system to boost its fuel efficiency. The cylinder head has a spiny sleeve to improve the heat release which keeps the engine cooler even in extreme conditions. Yamaha claims that the Sight can return a fuel efficiency of 129 kmpl, which is phenomenal. The fuel-efficient engine in combination with a 4.0-litre fuel tank will go a long way without a need of refilling.

The Sight comes fitted with a hydraulic single disc at the front and a mechanical leading trailing at the rear. In conjunction with the special brake pads on the wheels, these brakes provide much greater control over the amount of braking power applied. Moreover, the large 17-inch wheels shod with a 70/90 tyre up front and an 80/90 tyre at the rear offer fantastic grip, especially on slippery surfaces. As a safety measure against bike theft, Yamaha has installed an anti-theft key shutter on the Sight. Once closed, the shutter covers the entire key slot and it can only be opened with the back end of the assigned key.
