Yamaha YZF R15M

The Yamaha YZF-R15M cuts above the rest of the small bikes in Yamaha's lineup. It has a more aggressive and sportier feel and look. It has been improved in terms of styling with more aggressive and sharper fairings that seek inspiration from the R1M. The styling cues are so same in both bikes, that it becomes difficult to distinguish between them. The styling elements include fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors, full-fairing, split-style seat, clip-on handlebar, 17-inch alloy wheels and side-slung exhaust. 

The 2023 YZF-R15M is available in a Metallic Grey color. This paint option has a two-tone finish and a blue color for the alloy wheels. Despite its compact dimensions, it creates a commanding visual presence. At the outer edges of the bike, LED position lights have been outfitted to keep the frontal projected area small. This gives this machine the appearance of a big bike. 

The aerodynamic body design enhances the bike's performance. Improved airflow management gives the machine high-speed stability. Unmissable back and front LED flashers offer the perfect blend of safety and style.

The engine has been tuned in the YZF-R15M to produce a maximum output of 19 horsepower. It is one of the most powerful 150cc-class bikes on the market. An A&S clutch has been outfitted in the bike to provide stress-less shifting during deceleration and reduce the clutch weight pull. The A&S reduces the rider's fatigue and prevents excessive engine braking, leading to enjoyable, smooth downshifts. The traction control system is a great feature as it reduces the chances of a wheelspin. The brakes require effort to pull up when you're in a hurry. The motorcycle offers more punch to experienced riders. It is easy to ride, and through corners, it carries good momentum.

The 2023 Yamaha YZF-R15M uses the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC, four-valve and fuel-injected engine. The engine is equipped with a Variable Valve Actuation system for performance optimization. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, delivering an output of 18.1bhp at 10,000 rpm and 14.2Nm peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The gearbox's operation has been enhanced with the inclusion of an assist and slipper clutch mechanism. It also has an onboard diagnostics (OBD-II) system that makes it stand out from its predecessors. 

A slipper clutch is an excellent feature as it gives a light clutch lever pull to the rider. During aggressive downshifts, the rear wheel lock offers additional safety. The Anti-lock Braking System offers restricted wheel lockups and precise braking even when you're riding the bike at a high speed.

The Yamaha YZF-R15M is a well-balanced machine that you can ride on a daily basis. You can even take it on the weekends to the racetrack. It doesn't have impressive performance figures like its bigger siblings, but it makes up for it with its usability.
