MANILA: Mitsubishi Adventure has been around in the Philippines market for a while now. With its wide popularity among our parents and youth, gives the testimony of the same. It all started in the 90's when Asian Utility Vehicle segment was gaining popularity and Mitsubishi at the right time hit the bull's eye with the launch of Adventure. Over the years, Adventure has received its share of updates and revisions, all keeping in mind the changing preference of the consumers.

Mitsubishi Adventure recently received another share of design and utility up gradation that seems to be the best delivered till date. And this is what we feel that makes Adventure one of the best performer in the Mitsubishi’s long fleet cars.

1. Say hello, to its robust body

Mitsubishi Adventure is now followed by a tagline that reads 'Super Sport'. And this attribute of it is not only supported by its mechanical tuning but also through its design language. The car holds a strong road presence, all thanks to its sexy and fluidic design philosophy. Also, its lengthy dimension sheet that reads 4640mm X 1750mm X 1830mm (L x W x H) complements its bold exterior features. To the long list of which are included, chrome radiator front grille, smoked-type multi-reflector halogen headlamps with clear turn signals, ORVM with LED turn signals, smart tailgate spare tire cover and 15-inch Ralliart design wheels. In addition to all this, it is Adventure dual-tone body paint that tops the already delicious cake with loads of cherries.

2. Well equipped and comforting cabin

Adventure though is a rugged car and the fact becomes very well clear with its hulk like outer body. But that doesn't mean that it would lack on cabin facility and would only offer mere basic options. Contrary to this, the car is loaded with features from the very starting to the third row and cargo space. Starting with the driver's arena, Adventure offers a four-spoke leather wrapped audio controls mounted steering wheel, white-lit meter cluster, along with the multi-adjustment seat. Moving on, the center console apart from air-con vents houses a 6.2-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system that controls features like TPMS, 2 DIN single in-dash tuner multimedia player, GPS navigation, Bluetooth, and iPod connectivity. Moving on the second row it comes with a center armrest with integrated cupholders, while the third-row seats are front-facing with 50:50 split fold and side tumble option.

3. Powerful and Economical Engine

Under Mitsubishi Adventure strong hood rests a 2.5-litre in-line 4-CYL (4D56) diesel engine that effortlessly generates a maximum power of 75 PS at 4200 rpm along with a peak torque of 149 Nm at 2500 rpm. With its distributor type fuel injection system, the said mill is now EURO-2 compliant. In addition to its 5-speed manual transmission what else supports its undoubted performance is its independent double wishbone front and semi-elliptic leaf spring rear suspension. On the braking front, Adventure gets 13" Ventilated Disc and 10" Leading and Trailing Drums on the front and rear ends respectively.

4. Safety and Security

It is only in this front where we feel that Adventure goes below the standard mark, as the car is not offered with an airbag option. To the meager list of its safety function are included features like 3-point ELR seatbelts for front and second-row passengers and reverse warning sensor.

In all Mitsubishi Adventure with a starting price of PhP 870,000 is a great pick in the AUV section. The said car thus becomes a perfect alternative to the likes of Toyota Avanza and Isuzu Crosswind.
