MANILA: ACMobility, the official distributor of BYD, Kia, and Volkswagen in the Philippines, has opened five new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Makati City.

ACMobility’s new EV charging facility in Makati City can deliver up to 480 kW of power.The said stations were established by the company in collaboration with Makati Commercial Estate Association (MaCEA), Ayala Land, and ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), and can be found inside the Corinthian Carpark at 121 Paseo de Roxas, Legazpi Village, Makati City. In total, the new facility can provide ultra-fast direct current (DC) charging for up to nine EV units.
Specifically, four of the new stations each have two charge points capable of up to 240 kilowatts (kW) of power output. One unit (colored yellow), meanwhile, boasts up to 480 kW of EV charging. All are likewise equipped with DC CCS2 charging ports, 1000-amp air-cooled cables, and a pull-through mechanism in order to accommodate larger EV models.

“Makati has been one of the leading runners in the country when it comes to sustainability. It is also a bustling business and residential district, which altogether makes it the perfect home for the fastest EV chargers yet,” Head of Mobility Infrastructure of ACMobility Carla Buencamino said.
“With this offering at the heart of the city, we’re making it easier for more drivers, businesses, families, and communities to access faster and convenient EV charging, right where they need it,” Buencamino added.
Photo by Cesar Guiderone MiguelSimilar to other operational EV charging stations in the country, the newly opened ones in Corinthian Carpark are now integrated with Evro, ACMobility’s all-in-one EV app.
Through Evro, EV users can determine the availability of a particular charging point, pay for EV charging sessions, check for EV-related news, and track their EV charging status in real time.
Pricing for the new EV charging station in Makati is set at P35 per kilowatt hour (kWh). With ACMobility membership, however, users can enjoy EV rage discounts of up to 20 percent.
Future ACMobility EV infrastructure
As disclosed by the company, it is planning to expand the reach of its recently introduced Power-on-Wheels mobile EV charging service to the following locations:
- Muntinlupa
- Pasay
- Pasig
- Manila
- San Juan
- Quezon City
Currently, Power-on-Wheels’ reach is limited to Taguig, Mandaluyong, and Makati.
