Aston Martin to pull the wraps off its DBX SUV in December 2019

MANILA: Following its announcement in the month of November 2018, the Aston Martin DBX SUV was able to create a lot of hype and anticipation in and around the automobile space across the planet. Since then, the British SUV has been through vigorous testing and is now in the final stages of the same. Recently, Aston Martin is seen testing the SUV at the Nurburgring circuit, where the automobile manufacturer is examining the performance and persistence of its upcoming SUV.

One of the most important tests that Aston Martin has performed at the Nurburgring is the cornering ability of the DBX SUV. The results show that the SUV sports braking figures that are better than those of the DBS Superleggera, while the cornering speeds of the SUV are as good as the Vantage. Something that further proves the abilities of the DBX SUV is the sub-8-minute runs that Aston Martin was able to record while examining the SUV around Green Hell.

So, what's under the hood of the Aston Martin DBX SUV? To burst the bubble, it's the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that we have already seen on the Vantage and the DB11 models. However, the mill on the DBX SUV generates 550 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 770 Nm instead of the 510 PS and 685 Nm that it makes on the Vantage and DB11. While the 0-100 kmph run time is still a mystery, the Aston Martin DBX SUV can fly at speeds of over 290 kmph, as revealed by the automaker.

"We have concentrated our work to ensure that the calibration and tune of this 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 deliver both the everyday usability and refinement expected by SUV owners. However, we have also focused heavily on matching that with the engaging driving dynamics that are commanded by our brand and inherent in every Aston Martin and early indications of the car’s overall performance have been incredibly promising", said Matt Becker, Aston Martin Chief Engineer.
