Bentley breaks ground for new paint shop in Crewe

MANILA: Bentley held a ground-breaking ceremony for its new paint shop in its headquarters in Crewe.

According to the British carmaker, the new paint shop will be constructed in a 12,460 square-meter area and is expected to be completed by 2025. It will offer an expanded palette of approximately 100 individual colors for customers looking to personalize their rides.

Further, there will be a four-storey office building in the facility which will be home to more than 370 Bentley employees.

“Breaking ground on this new state-of-the-art building is a milestone moment and supports our aim for a benchmark position in new innovative technologies, skills, and facilities to enable a truly digital, highly flexible benchmark for luxury car manufacturing,” Bentley Board Member for Manufacturing Andreas Lehe said.

“While also modernizing our site, it is a clear demonstration of our ambition and long-term commitment to Crewe as we transform Bentley into the leader of sustainable luxury mobility,” he added.

The construction of Bentley’s new paint shop will be integral to the marque’s preparations for future battery-powered electric vehicle production. It also aims to set a new benchmark in next-generation, digital, flexible, and high-value manufacturing operations.
