  • In a statement, the Ayala-led distributor said that BYD's latest addition to its flagship sedan lineup — named Seal Advanced — “brings technology, luxury, style, and safety to a more attainable price point.”

“The BYD Seal Advanced is designed for drivers who prioritize efficiency, safety, and advanced technology. With its impressive range, extreme comfort, and extensive ADAS features, the Seal Advanced promises a safe and reliable everyday driving experience. This is the perfect choice for today’s electric vehicle owner who wants to experience the pinnacle of BYD design and technology,” BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca said.

Here are some of the notable features of the new BYD Seal Advanced.

    Powertrain

Served as the model’s entry-level trim, the new BYD Seal Advanced features a rear-wheel-drive configuration — with its Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor capable of delivering 200 horsepower (hp) and 310 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. This allows the vehicle to run 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.5 seconds.

Its 61.40-kilowatt-hour (kWh) Blade Battery is integrated into the car’s body, which increases torsional rigidity while lessening weight to improve overall performance. Also, the aforementioned power bank gives the vehicle an emissions-free range of up to 510 kilometers (based on New European Driving Cycle standards).

The BYD Seal Advanced comes with a 110-kilowatt (kW) DC fast-charger (which can juice up the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 30 minutes). It also has a 7kW AC charging system that can fully charge the vehicle (0 to 100 percent) in approximately 12 hours.

“Expanding the BYD Seal lineup with the Advanced variant allows us to reach a broader segment of the Philippine electric vehicle sedan market. This new addition reflects our ongoing commitment to offering a diverse range of electric vehicles that cater to the needs of more Filipino drivers as we continue to expand BYD’s presence in the country,” BYD Philippines Country Head Aiffy Liu said.

    Interior

The BYD Seal Advanced showcases a familiar cabin as it is also fitted with a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster and 15.6-inch intelligent rotating touchscreen that has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, which are also seen in the Performance trim.
