Changan PH officially launches NEVO A05 PHEV

MANILA: Changan Philippines, under the stewardship of Inchcape Philippines, has officially launched the NEVO A05 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). 

The said model made its debut in the country after being previewed at the recently held Manila International Auto Show sometime in April, and now complements the Chinese carmaker’s electrified offerings in the Philippines. 

Here are some of the sedan’s notable features. 

Electrified powertrain 

Under the hood of the Changan NEVO A05 PHEV is a 1.5-liter Blue Core gasoline engine mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission system. Together, the setup makes up to 212 horsepower and 330 Newton-meters of torque. 

To adapt to the driver’s preference, the hybrid model comes with several electric vehicle  (EV) powertrain modes, such as: 

• Battery electric vehicle 
• PHEV 
• Range-extended electric vehicle 

On top of these, it also features multiple drive modes such as Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom.

Energy is supplied by a class-leading 18.4 kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery, and allows the Changan NEVO A05 PHEV to provide owners with 130 kilometers (km) of range on full EV mode with a combined range of 1,250 km. 

Exterior 

Outside, the Changan NEVO A05 PHEV offers a minimalist, yet sophisticated appeal with sharp, elegant, and sophisticated lines. Aside from donning classic yet sporty design cues, the hybrid sedan is fitted with the below appointments: 

• Automatic LED headlights, taillights 
• Headlight height adjust 
• LED daytime running lights 
• High-mount LED brake lamp 
• 17-inch alloy wheels 

The new model is available in the below color options: 

• White
• Cloud Mountain Green 
• Andes Gray 
• Titanium Light Silver Gray

• Autonomous emergency braking 

Pricing 

The newly-launched Changan NEVO A05 PHEV has a starting price of P1.195 million. That said, it has the potential to compete with other hybrid mid-size sedans like the BYD Seal 5 DM-i and the soon-to-be-launched Toyota Ativ.  

Until the end of October, customers interested in switching to a more sustainable means of transportation can bring home the electrified sedan with a special cash savings of P55,000.
