Mercedes-Benz PH rolls out GLE 400 e PHEV

MANILA: Mercedes-Benz Philippines, under the stewardship of Inchcape Philippines, has expanded its new energy vehicle offerings with the introduction of the GLE 400 e Plug in Hybrid (PHEV). 

The newest model offers signature features the German carmaker is known for while further strengthening the company’s sustainability efforts in the country. 

Here are some of its notable features: 

Electrified powertrain 

Under the bonnet of the premium sport utility vehicle (SUV) is a 2.0-liter gasoline engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. 

Providing additional power is an electric motor and a battery, rated at 115 kilowatt-hours. 

The said setup generates the following output: 

Maximum power output (in horsepower [hp>)	252
Peak torque (in Newton-meters [Nm>)	440

Range-wise, it can travel up to 100 kilometers (km) in full electric mode with a combined rage of 700 km. 

Exterior

Outside, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 e PHEV proudly wears the three-pointed star at the center of its chrome diamond grille with the marque’s pattern, also in chrome. 

Notable on its fascia are its multi-beam LED headlamps with adaptive high beam assist plus technology.

Rounding up the eye-catching appointments at the fore is the AMG front apron with a chrome tip strip as well as a pair of sporty and distinctive air inlets. 

Its side profile is highlighted with a set of 21-inch AMG multi-spoke light alloy wheels and AMG side sill panels painted in the same shade with the automobile. 

Further adding character and cohesively bridging the front and backside of the vehicle are front and rear wing flares — also in the same shade as the body of the vehicle. 

In addition, it also gets power side mirrors, aluminum roof rails, and aluminum running boards. 

At the back are air outlets on the rear wings and an AMG rear apron with diffuser-look inserts in black and a trim strip in chrome.

Interior 

The cabin of the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 e PHEV exudes opulence hallmark of the upmarket European car brand. 

Inside are seats (sport-type for driver, front passenger) finished in Artico man-made leather upholstery. Similar material is applied to the SUV’s dashboard and door cards. 

Likewise, the multi-functional steering wheel also gets its fair share of premium hide, this time in Nappa leather. 

Aside from the chrome interior package, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 e PHEV also gets AMG floor mats and AMG sport pedals, as well as technological appointments in the form of a wide screen cockpit display consisting of two 12.3-inch screens. 

Found inside too are the following: 

• Automatic air conditioning system
• Ambient lighting 
• Auto-dimming rearview mirror

Safety 

Here are its safety features: 

• Anti-lock braking 
• Electronic stability control 
• Downhill speed regulation 
• Electronic traction system
• Hill-start assist

Pricing

The Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 e PHEV is priced at P5.79 million.
