GAC boosts ties in PH auto industry with CAMPI membership

MANILA: GAC International Philippines has officially joined the growing membership of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI).

In a statement, the Chinese automaker's local arm expressed its firm belief that this latest milestone strengthens its connection with industry stakeholders—contributing to the development of national policies, programs, and standards designed to advance the Philippine automotive sector. 

"Joining CAMPI is a significant honor and marks a pivotal chapter for our operations. We are eager to leverage this partnership to accelerate our growth in the Philippine market. As we continue re-consolidating our presence in the country, this membership underscores our deep-rooted commitment to providing Filipinos with world-class engineering and a comprehensive, future-ready automotive experience," GAC International Senior Vice President Steven Wang was quoted as saying.

The company's latest achievement follows its major revamp this year, transitioning to a wholly owned local subsidiary under GAC International.

Anchored to the "One GAC" philosophy, the marque's re-entry brings together GAC Motor, Aion, and Hyptec under a single entity, centralizing operations to deliver a consistent standard across sales, service, and customer experience.

This initiative is also intended to optimize aftersales support and strengthen coordination across its nationwide dealer network. 

Further, GAC Philippines said it provides a "zero-anxiety" ownership experience through its growing nationwide network of 30 dealerships, a dedicated parts warehouse, and comprehensive aftersales support.

In addition, customers receive warranties of up to five years or 150,000 kilometers for internal combustion engine models, while electrified vehicle models come with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty, as well as an eight-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty for the core three-electric system. All new owners also receive two years of free roadside assistance.

It can be recalled that as of the first half of 2026, the combined sales of CAMPI and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reached 167,324 units—reflecting a 12.1-percent decrease from the 190,429 vehicles sold during the same period in 2025.
