The Jaguar I-Pace is one remarkable model in the history of the British automaker, for it is the first-ever electric SUV in its global range of well-acclaimed cars. The Jaguar I-Pace, in the Philippines car market, is being offered in a total of three different variants – S, SE, and HSE, with a number of customization options on offer, related to exterior paint options, interior upholstery, and trim options and features.
The Jaguar I-Pace feels as new-age on the inside as it has been designed on the outside, with the prospected buyers having the options of choosing the upholstery, trim level, and seats of his/her own choice from a long list of options. The overall dashboard has got an angular design, which adds some drama to the overall layout.
The full TFT instrument console sitting behind a rather simple looking multi-functional steering wheel makes the driver’s cockpit of the Jaguar I-Pace very attractive. However, what is even more attractive in the cabin inside is a slanted design for the center console, in the middle of which sits a large touchscreen infotainment system, which gets trapezoidal AC vents above it.
There is a separate sloping portion in the lower center console, which comes with a touch-sensitive panel and dials for controlling climate and ride modes. The triangular wraparound bars on the sides of the lower center console too look quite nice here. Apart from that, the interior is a good mix of brushed aluminum and wood inserts, especially on the passenger side of the dashboard.
The Jaguar I-Pace is easily the most stunning looking vehicle Jaguar has ever come up with to date, for the eye-catching design highlights blended nicely with its sleek profile with the stance of a sport SUV. While it is not a pure SUV in the way it looks, the heightened stance and well-sculpted body surely give it a tremendous road presence.
At the front, the Jaguar I-Pace has got a very familiar front face, as the rounded front grille has been shared with the rest of the lineup of Jaguar, though it comes with a completely covered inner portion with a star-studded design for it. The sleek-looking sweptback headlamps with dual L-shaped daytime running LEDs are somewhat a common feature in all the modern Jaguars and goes well with its sleek personality as a whole. The front bumper has got a rather busy design with vertical air vents placed on the corners, and sleek fog lamps sandwiched between lip spoiler at the bottom and horizontal bumper garnish in the middle.
The side profile of the Jaguar I-Pace looks very athletic, thanks to a high ground clearance as well as a rounded roofline flowing downwards like in a coupe. The beauty of the side profile doubles up here due to the curved window waistline as well as rounded and flared wheel arches styled in a bulging out manner. This curvaceous theme executed for the Jaguar I-Pace makes it look very aerodynamic.
At the back, Jaguar has tried to make the I-Pace look quite futuristic with its squatted stance comprising of a very sharply raked and curved from the bottom rear windscreen, protruding and almost flat boot lid design, a small roof spoiler, and sleek wraparound LED tail lamps.
Thanks to a very sporty and aerodynamic design that helps in its sharp reflexes, the Jaguar I-Pace feels quite an agile vehicle to drive. The SUV gets the top-notch Jaguar drive control and all surface progress control to make sure that the overall driving dynamics of the SUV feel sharp and precise with maximum stability and traction guaranteed.
Powering the Jaguar I-Pace is a 90 kWh Lithium-ion battery, which can propel the SUV from standstill to 100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest SUVs of recent times. The SUV has its maximum power output rated at 400 PS, which is even more powerful than some of the sport-oriented SUVs priced almost double than it.
The Jaguar I-Pace is bestowed with a sufficiently long list of safety features, including front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, dynamic stability control, traction control, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition with adaptive speed limiter, lane keep assist, 3D surround camera, front and rear parking sensors, and motor drag torque control.
The Jaguar I-Pace might be lacking the macho or butch factor of a traditional SUV, but with such a stunning and athletic design, it is actually not missed much. With a terrific powertrain and long list of electronic driving aids, the Jaguar I-Pace is quite a revolution in itself.
