Recent Updates of Mitsubishi XForce

The Mitsubishi XForce made its debut in the Philippines in July 2024. It is offered in two variants, including the GLS and the range-topping GT. For Southeast Asian Countries, the New Car Assessment Program gave the Xforce a five-star rating. In the product design discipline, the Xforce won the iF Design Award 2024. Its main competitors include the Haima S7, Rush, Jimny, and Okavango. It is available in 4 colour options, including White Pearl, Blade Silver Metallic, Energetic Yellow, and Graphite Gray Metallic.

How much is the price of the Mitsubishi XForce in the Philippines?

Available in two variants, the prices of Mitsubishi XForce start at PHP 1,367,000 for the GLS 1.5G 2WD CVT and go up to PHP 1,581,000 for the GT 2WD CVT variant.

How many variants are there in the Mitsubishi XForce?

The Mitsubishi XForce is being offered in the Philippines car market in two distinctive variants – GLS 1.5G 2WD CVT and GT 1.5G 2WD CVT. Both these variants of the XForce are being offered with the combination of a petrol engine and a CVT gearbox as standard.

Which is the most value-for-money variant of the Mitsubishi XForce?

Among the two variants of the Mitsubishi XForce on sale in the Philippines car market, it is the higher-spec GT 1.5 2WD CVT variant which makes more sense from the perspective of the value-for-money quotient. The lower-spec GLS 1.5 2WD CVT variant feels a bit basic in comparison and misses out on a few attractive goodies like ADAS suite of safety features, wireless charger, cruise control, leather upholstery, and ambient lighting, with the GT 1.5 2WD CVT variant getting all these, and some more.

What features does the Mitsubishi XForce get?

Much like many other compact SUVs on sale in the Philippines, the Mitsubishi XForce is a decently packaged SUV with several attractive elements inside-out. On the outside, the XForce gets 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and an all-LED setup for the headlamps, tail lamps, and fog lamps, besides auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers in the higher-spec variant.

Coming to the interiors of the Mitsubishi XForce, the SUV gets a contemporary layout for the cabin, with the common features in both variants being driver seat height adjustment, 8-way reclinable rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cooled centre floor console, and electronic parking brake. It also gets a tilt and telescopic adjustable multi-functional steering wheel, two Type-A and Type-C USB charging sockets, an 8-inch full-TFT instrument console, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 8-speaker Yamaha Premium sound system. The higher-spec GT variant also features ambient lighting, wireless charger, and leather upholstery.

How spacious is it?

The Mitsubishi XForce measures 4,390 mm long, 1,810 mm wide, and 1,660mm tall, which makes it on par with other similarly-sized compact SUVs as far as interior space is concerned. It has ample room for five passengers, with the rear seats offering sufficient knee room, headroom, and shoulder room.

While Mitsubishi hasn’t disclosed the official boot space figure for the XForce, the compact SUV has the facility of 60:40 split seats as standard, with the rear seats also able to fold flat for maximized boot space.

What engine and transmission options are available?

The only engine option offered in both the variants of the Mitsubishi XForce is a tried-and-tested 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Shared with the Xpander MPV, this engine is being offered with CVT as the standard transmission option. Mitsubishi claims a maximum power output of 105 bhp and a maximum torque output of 141 Nm for both variants of the XForce.

What’s the mileage of the Mitsubishi XForce?

Mitsubishi hasn’t revealed the official fuel efficiency figure for the XForce compact SUV. However, the combination of the same 1.5-litre petrol engine and CVT offered in the XForce claims a maximum fuel efficiency figure of 22.94 kmpl in the Xpander MPV (officially stated by Mitsubishi). Keeping this as a reference, we expect that the XForce should return a real-life fuel efficiency figure of 18-19 kmpl.

How safe is the Mitsubishi XForce?

The standard safety features offered in both the variants of the Mitsubishi XForce are dual front and side airbags, reverse camera, active stability and traction control, active yaw control, hill start assist, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. However, the higher-spec GT variant also gets curtain airbags and reverse parking sensors. This GT variant also gets ADAS features like a forward collision mitigation system, leading car departure notification, blind spot warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beam, and tyre pressure monitoring system.

How many colour options are there?

The four colour options Mitsubishi is offering for the XForce compact SUV are Energetic Yellow Metallic with black roof, Quartz White Pearl with black roof, Graphite Grey Metallic with black roof and Blade Silver Metallic with black roof. Among these four colour options, the Blade Silver Metallic with black roof is restricted only to the lower-spec GLS variant, while the rest of the three colours are available in both variants.

Should you buy the 2024 Mitsubishi XForce?

The Mitsubishi XForce is a product that might have arrived late to the party of compact SUVs, but it surely impresses with its attractive and youthful design inside-out and reliable and proven mechanicals.

There are a few shortcomings though, which are hard to ignore. The XForce could have had a longer equipment list, with some goodies like a sunroof, ventilated seats, and a powered driver’s seat missing. Also, the petrol engine shared with the Xpander MPV feels a bit underpowered in the XForce. However, this very engine feels smooth, efficient and refined, and has proven its reliability in the Xpander. Also, the bold styling, spacious cabin, and comfortable ride quality make the XForce a compelling option for compact SUV buyers.

What are my alternatives?

There is a range of compact SUVs from other mainstream auto brands that are direct rivals to the Mitsubishi XForce, priced in its similar ballpark. These alternative compact SUVs include Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG ZS, Nissan Kicks E-Power, Toyota Yaris Cross, Honda HR-V, Ford Territory, Mazda CX-3, Chevrolet Tracker, Mazda CX-3, Volkswagen T-Cross, Jeep Compass and Peugeot 2008.

Other things to consider

The Mitsubishi XForce is a compact SUV that is here to stay with a petrol-automatic powertrain only. Within Mitsubishi’s portfolio, you can also opt for the Xpander compact SUV, if you want the same mechanicals and almost similar equipment list, but with the additional practicality of a third row of seats.

The cabin gets soft-touch materials on key contact points like armrests and dashboard inserts. Hard plastics are present, more in the lower console areas. But these are smartly textured to feel upmarket.

Dual-zone automatic climate control is available in the top model. The rear air vents get adjustable direction. The mash-tray styling come with a free-floating glass panel that extends across the dashboard, pairing with the recessed 8.-inch digital driver display. It gets customizable home screen with widgets. The unit supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with WebLink mirroring.  But there are occasional lags, freezes, and slow response. The infotainment unit is connected to an eight-speaker setup with front-pillar tweeters, door woofers, and rear coaxials.

The 8.0-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel comes with a multimeter mode, borrowed from the Mitsubishi Pajero. It comprises altitude, tilt, compass, coolant temperature, torque, and yaw angle. The Driving Score function rates driving smoothness, acceleration, and braking. It has been designed in partnership with rally legend Hiroshi Masuoka.

Both screens may feel cluttered with information overload and need better legibility

Pros and cons

Pros: High-resolution dual screens and customizable gauge cluster

Cons: Occasional sluggish response

Boot Space and Storage

The 2025 Mitsubishi XForce comes with 363 liters of boot space with the rear seats up. The loading bay is wide and deep. With 60:40 rear seats folded down, the space expands considerably, accommodating larger items. The boot floor is flat and that makes loading and unloading easier.

The Mitsubishi XForce’s central cabin is deep and well-designed. It’s ideal for phones, wallets, or even small handbags. The door pockets can hold large bottles, while the glovebox is decently sized. The front seatbacks include map pockets, and there are convenient cup holders both in front and rear rows.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Flexible boot capacity

Cons: Rear door storage is basic

XForce Exterior

The 2025 Mitsubishi XForce measures 4,390mm in length, 1,810mm in width, and 1,660mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,650mm.

The front-end of the 2025 Mitsubishi XForce makes a strong visual impact. Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design language dominates, with a wide, gloss-black grille flanked by dual-tier lighting. The car gets slim daytime running lights (DRLs) that serve as a visual signature. The Mitsubishi XForce gets all-around LED lighting. The integrated headlamps are placed in a black housing. The front bumper gets bold contours and a brushed silver skid plate. There are also functional air inlets around the bumper edges that add a sporty flair and helps with aerodynamic efficiency.

From the side, the XForce sports a well-proportioned silhouette. It gets a slightly rising shoulder line. The bold black plastic cladding around the wheel arches and lower doors forge a tough appearance. A clean floating-roof effect is achieved via blacked-out D-pillars. The car runs on machine-cut, dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels. The turbine-style design enhances motion even when standing still. The car gets power-folding mirrors with LED indicators and chrome door handles (depending on the variant).

The rear-end of the Mitsubishi XForce looks wide and stable. The T-shaped taillights match the headlamp motif and add visual width. The tailgate spoiler with an integrated high-mounted stop lamp adds a sporty element. The bold rear bumper with skid plate and reflectors lends rugged character. The tailgate’s design is minimalist. It gets a clean surface with a centered Mitsubishi badge. The rear-window is slightly sloped for a dynamic profile. The rear wiper and defogger are standard. The hatch opens wide for convenient cargo loading.

The Mitsubishi XForce is available in White Pearl, Energetic Yellow, Blade Metallic Silver, and Graphite Grey Metallic color options.

Pros and Cons

Mitsubishi XForce Mileage Running Cost

The 2025 Mitsubishi XForce returns a real-life city mileage of 11–16kmpl under mixed conditions. Highway mileage varies between 17–21kmpl. It sometimes reaches up to 24 kmpl depending on the road conditions. The Mitsubishi XForce is among the most fuel-efficient cars in its segment.

Pros and cons

Pros: Superb Fuel efficiency

Cons: Mileage depends on road conditions

XForce Ride & Handling

Mitsubishi has equipped the XForce with MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam setup at the back. The rear suspension is more cost-effective than a multi-link system. It has been tuned for balance and comfort. The suspension absorbs road imperfections confidently and maintains composure even when fully loaded.

The ride comfort of the Mitsubishi XForce is surprisingly refined. Cabin insulation is decent, keeping road noise mostly at bay, particularly at city speeds. The seats are well-cushioned and supportive.

The XForce gets a light electric power steering setup, making urban maneuverability easy. The car is easy to park and turn in tight corners. It’s not designed for spirited driving, but the handling feels composed and predictable, with minimal body roll during regular cornering.

Pros: Comfortable urban ride

Cons: Lacks dynamic edge

Mitsubishi XForce Engine & Fuel Consumption

The 2025 Mitsubishi XForce is hauled by a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 104 PS/141 Nm. The motor is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). While it’s not a high-output performer, the XForce’s powertrain is engineered more for everyday usability and comfort than outright power. On city roads, the XForce shines with smooth acceleration and a responsive throttle, particularly at low speeds. The CVT is seamless, making stop-and-go traffic less stressful. The 2025 Mitsubishi XForce is easy to maneuver in tight urban spaces and narrow lanes, courtesy its compact dimensions and light steering. On the highway, the car retains composure at cruising speeds. The engine begins to sound strained when pushed hard, and the CVT occasionally delays response during sudden throttle inputs. The Normal and Wet driving modes lend some versatility.

Pros and cons

Pros: City-focused comfort

Cons: Underpowered for highway overtaking

XForce Braking & Safety

The Mitsubishi XForce comes with a 360-degree camera system. It offers a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle surroundings. The rear-view camera helps in backing up and reversing with dynamic guidelines. The ultrasonic parking sensors are located on the front and rear bumpers. The car comes with a driver-assist system that comprises lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high-beam lights that switches between high and low beams depending on oncoming traffic.

The 2025 Mitsubishi XForce comes with multiple airbags.

Pros and cons

Pros: 360-degree camera

Cons: No autonomous emergency steering

Mitsubishi XForce Verdict

Competitor Comparison

The Toyota Yaris Cross is among the closest competitors to the 2025 Mitsubishi XForce in the Philippines market. Both are designed for urban versatility, but they differ in key areas. The Toyota Yaris Cross offers better fuel efficiency and a hybrid option, making it more eco-friendly. It also has a larger boot of 390 litres compares to the Mitshubishi XForce’s 363 litres. The Yaris Cross also gets a more refined interior. The XForce sports a more rugged design, superior infotainment with a dual-screen setup, and a smoother ride on rough roads. The Toyota Yaris Cross excels in economy and practicality, whereas the XForce appeals to drivers wanting a more dynamic look and slightly more comfortable ride over uneven surfaces.

Conclusion and Final Verdict

The 2025 Mitsubishi XForce is a smart urban SUV that blends style, practicality, and comfort in a compact form. It excels in cabin usability, ride comfort, and offers commendable tech for its class. Though the boot space isn't class-leading, clever cabin storage and a flexible rear seat layout add versatility. The Mitsubishi XForce manages to ticks many right boxes. It’s a solid, value-focused crossover that delivers where it matters most, daily drivability and thoughtful functionality.
