Mitsubishi Xforce reaches Malaysian market

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has rolled out the Xforce compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Malaysia.

Per the Japanese carmaker, pre-orders for the new nameplate — which began sometime in February — surpassed the initial target of 2,000 units, signalling good reception from Malaysian customers.

“The strong response of 2,600 bookings we have seen reflects a clear shift in Malaysian consumer preferences towards SUVs that combine style, convenience, and everyday comfort,” Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM),” MMM Chief Executive Officer Takashi Sakamaki was quoted as saying.

“This trend is also visible in the broader compact SUV (sport utility vehicle ) segment, which has grown by 6.3 percent, driven by demand for versatile, stylish design models. We are confident that the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce will further strengthen our position as Malaysian customers embrace SUVs that suit their evolving lifestyles,” he added.

“In a competitive market, the Xforce distinguishes itself through Mitsubishi Motors’ renowned reliability, precise handling, and commitment to delivering peace of mind. This launch underscores our dedication to offering SUVs that meet evolving customer needs while maintaining exceptional quality and satisfaction,” the MMM head honcho noted.

In Malaysia, the Mitsubishi Xforce is touted as the “best-suited buddy for an exciting life,” positioned as a new core model alongside the Xpander multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

There, it is produced at the Pekan plant in Pahang by HICOM Automotive Manufacturers Sendirian Berhad, the contract manufacturing partner of MMM.

“Built on the trusted reliability and outstanding handling cultivated by Mitsubishi Motors, the Xforce aims to be a vehicle that supports a wide range of customer lifestyles,” Sakamaki said.

“From everyday driving to more active pursuits, the Xforce is designed to encourage challenge and adventure. We remain committed to delivering vehicles that respond to evolving customer needs with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction,” he stated.

Mitsubishi Xforce quick specifications

Much like here in the Philippines, the Mitsubishi Xforce is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control (aka MIVEC) technology, which balances performance and fuel efficiency to deliver a smooth, reliable drive across daily city journeys.

The powertrain is able to deliver 750 kilometers of driving range on a single full tank, per MMM.

It is accompanied by four distinct drive modes, suited for the Southeast Asian market. These are Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud. It also gets active yaw control, which provides smooth cornering and improved stability by managing wheel torque across both sides. 

Notable exterior features include its T-shaped headlamps and taillamps, 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, hexagonal front grille, and integrated roof-mounted spoiler.

Inside, the Mitsubishi Xforce for Malaysia gets a multi-functional steering wheel, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium speakers, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone air conditioning with nanoe X, and leatherette upholstery.

The Mitsubishi Xforce in Malaysia can be purchased with curated accessory packages,

Namely, they are Excitement (which enhances the SUV’s sporty character with front, side, and rear under garnishes), Fashion Roof Rail (designed to elevate both the vehicle’s visual appeal and its functional versatility), and Practical (focuses on everyday convenience, featuring a luggage tray and mud guards to support daily usability).

Variants

In Malaysia, the Mitsubishi Xforce is available in two variants, Urban and Ultimate.
