LTO warns auto, moto dealers on OR, CR, license plate processing

MANILA: The leadership of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has reminded vehicle dealers to ensure the orderly and timely processing of official receipts (OR), certificates of registration (CR), and license plates for new units.

During a recent engagement with accredited car and motorcycle dealerships, LTO Chief and Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao said motorists should not bear the consequences of dealer negligence or non-compliance.

According to Lacanilao, dealers must ensure that all documents required for new vehicle registration are complete and promptly submitted to the agency.

The agency head also warned that accredited dealers found repeatedly violating established procedures, submitting incomplete or incorrect documents, or causing unreasonable delays in registration processing will be held accountable.

Further, Lacanilao noted that appropriate administrative sanctions, including the suspension or closure of dealerships, may be imposed if found guilty.
