PH-spec Suzuki Jimny 3-Door gains more value-packed features

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) has added more technology and comfort features to the 2026 Jimny Three-Door.

In a statement, the Japanese brand’s local arm announced that the updated compact off-roader now comes equipped with a suite of advanced driver-assist systems under Suzuki Safety Support, along with enhanced creature comforts — making the Jimny an even more capable and well-rounded adventure companion.

Here’s what customers can find with the compact sport utility vehicle’s upgraded version.

Smarter safety tech onboard

Leading the updates is its Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), which uses a monocular camera and millimeter-wave radar to detect vehicles and pedestrians ahead. The system issues audio and visual warnings and can automatically apply the brakes when necessary.

Suzuki clarified, however, that detection performance depends on sensor capability and road conditions, and reminded drivers not to rely solely on the system.

 

All Suzuki Jimny Three-Door variants now also feature Adaptive Cruise Control. Using radar and a camera, the system maintains a preset speed while automatically adjusting acceleration and braking based on traffic flow.

Additional safety features include:

• Lane Departure Prevention
• Lane Departure Warning
• Weaving Alert
• High Beam Assist

SPH has also expanded airbag protection. The GL and GLX variants now come with additional front side and curtain airbags, while front parking sensors are standard across the range. The GL variant now includes a reverse camera to improve visibility when backing up.

Enhanced in-cabin experience

Inside, the GLX variants receive a larger nine-inch infotainment touchscreen. Suzuki also replaces the previous red-orange instrument graphics with an updated colored display in the information gauge cluster for a more modern look.

Proven engine, serious off-road hardware

Despite the upgrades, the Jimny retains its 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 100 horsepower and 130 Newton-meters of torque. Buyers can choose between a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic. 

True to its heritage, the Jimny continues to use Suzuki’s 4x4 ALLGRIP PRO drivetrain, allowing drivers to switch between:

• Two-Wheel Drive (2H): for smooth, fuel-efficient highway driving
• Four-Wheel Drive High (4H): for added traction on gravel and dirt
• Four-Wheel Drive Low (4L): for maximum torque on sand, mud, and steep rocky terrain
