Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid

Suzuki has kept things simple and clean for the cabin of the Ertiga Hybrid, which is why this three-row MPV feels spacious and elegant from the inside, despite not being too rich in terms of features and quality of materials. The cabin of the Ertiga Hybrid is in an all-black theme, which is combined with the dark faux wood inserts on the door panels and across the dashboard.

The Ertiga Hybrid borrows its three-spoke, tilt-adjustable multi-functional steering wheel with a dual-pod instrument console, which also has a 4.2-inch full-TFT screen in the middle. There is a panel running across the width of the dashboard above the faux wood garnish, which houses the AC vents on the corners and beside the large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system placed in the middle.

The lower centre console of the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid houses a panel for the buttons of automatic climate control, which also allows passage of air towards the rear seat occupants through roof-mounted AC vents. The cabin is also equipped with decent features like a push start-stop button, driver seat height adjustment, chrome inner door handles, and cup holders in all three rows.

The overall design of the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid might not be as sharp and aggressive as some of the other MPVs on sale today. However, the sleek lines and proportionately designed body panels make the Ertiga Hybrid a decently handsome-looking MPV.

At the front, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid features a compact hexagonal grille, which gets chrome inserts and chrome garnish on its upper and lower edges. The angular headlamps placed on the sides of the front grille come integrated with halogen projector bulbs and clear lens turn indicators within them. The front bumper of the Ertiga Hybrid looks a bit aggressive with trapezoidal housings for the fog lamps, which come with a slanted panel running diagonally below the fog lamps.

The Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid looks sleek and proportionate from the side, with the sharp crease running from the front fender to the edge of the tail lamp giving it an essence of continuity and the feel of a long vehicle. The Ertiga Hybrid rides on 15-inch machined alloy wheels and a large rear quarter glass panel that merges with the rear windscreen, giving it a floating roof effect.

At the back, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid looks the most stylish with its vertically-aligned Christmas-tree-like wraparound tail lamps, which have a sweptback design towards the rear fenders and flow towards the boot lid.

Riding on 15-inch wheels, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid comes with a suspension setup comprising of Macpherson struts with coil springs at the front and a torsion beam with coil springs at the rear. The steering feels light and comfortable to use at lower urban speeds but somehow lacks precision as the speed crosses the triple-digit mark. Overall, the ride quality is neither too stiff nor too soft, with the Ertiga Hybrid feeling comfortable in daily driving duties.

All the variants of the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid are powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is accompanied by a mild-hybrid system. With a maximum power output of 103 bhp and a maximum torque output of 138 Nm, this petrol engine is available with both transmission choices of 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox options.

The Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is packed with just the right amount of basic safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, reverse camera, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.

The Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is purely targeted at those family-oriented buyers, who want a simple, no-nonsense, comfortable and economical three-row MPV, thus scoring high on practicality.
