DPWH opens Solano-Bayombong Bypass Road in Nueva Vizcaya

MANILA: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finally completed the construction of the P470.11-million Solano-Bayombong Bypass Road in Nueva Vizcaya.

DPWH Regional Director Reynaldo Alconcel stated in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan that the 6.202-kilometer Solano-Bayombong Bypass Road has four lanes, a carriageway width of 13.4 meters, and a thickness concrete of 300 millimeters. The Solano-Bayombong Bypass Road is now the longest bypass road in Cagayan Valley Region.

“The opening of this new road ensures the faster delivery of goods to and from Nueva Vizcaya and also helps decongest traffic along busy Daang Maharlika,” Bonoan said.

Around 10,000 motorists are anticipated to use the bypass road per day. The Solano-Bayombong Bypass Road has a traffic signal system, light posts, lay-by areas, walkways, and bicycle and pedestrian lanes.

The new bypass road will make it easier to deliver agricultural and commercial goods to key economic centers. Furthermore, it will open up possibilities for industrialization, which will give communities a source of income.

The Solano-Bayombong Bypass Road was funded under the Regular Infrastructure Program and constructed under Multi Year Contracting Authority (MYCA) for FY 2018-2022. The scenic super highway-type alternate road will serve as a recreational area for locals and tourists.
