LTFRB No Longer Mandates Online Request on Transactions

MANILA: The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is now accepting all transactions in its offices after the lifting of the mandatory online filing of requests for some transactions.

The new policy addresses requests for special permits, unit confirmations, franchise verifications, typographical error rectification, and the granting of extensions of provisional authority.

“With the new circular, online filing of selected transactions is no longer mandatory but shall now be optional. Consequently, personal filing of above enumerated selected transactions is now allowed,” the LTFRB said in a statement.

The policy, according to the statement, has been issued through Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2023-019, which amends MC No. 2020-016 that was issued on April 19, 2020 while the general community quarantine was still in effect in low- or moderate-risk regions.

According to the LTFRB, both in-person and online transactions will be subject to filing fees.

“While the fact that COVID-19 still exists, the impactful effects of the same have been substantially mitigated, particularly in the aspect of mobility of people,” the agency said.

The LTFRB still encourages the public to continue using its online system to avoid long lines at its offices and to be protected against COVID-19.
