Mercedes-Maybach unveils EQS, the first EV from luxury marque

MANILA: Mercedes-Maybach introduces its first all-electric series model with the EQS 680 SUV, a classic car from the storied company. In keeping with Karl Maybach's philosophy — “What is good must also be beautiful” — it is built on the technology of the EQS SUV from Mercedes-EQ and mixes it with the exclusivity of Maybach.

An identifiable appearance is guaranteed by the distinctive exterior, which has an upright Mercedes star on the bonnet and a stunning black panel front that continues the distinctive Maybach radiator grille into the age of electromobility. The brand is also recognizable by its available two-tone paint job.

A holistic comfort experience with a cocooning effect is provided by the expansive interior's excellent materials, flawless craftsmanship, and special accents. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV establishes the new standard in the top-end luxury all-electric SUV category with its consistent depiction of sophisticated elegance.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS Exterior

The bumper's air inlet also has filigree slats that are chrome-plated. A decorative strip made of chrome with the traditional Maybach branding subtly inserted into it joins the regular Digital Light headlamps' continuous light strip to produce a cohesive whole. This Light greets and farewells the driver with a unique light display. The Maybach pattern is animatedly projected onto each of the four doors as an additional welcome.

When viewed from the side, pronounced chrome surrounds on the side windows and the chrome-plated B-pillar trim are distinguishing elements. Maybach Exclusive Nappa leather in the warm shades of espresso brown/balao brown pearl is standard on the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV. There is an optional Macchiato beige/bronze brown pearl available. Crystal white/silver gray pearl Maybach MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather is an option for an even more opulent appearance. All interior colors' leather originates from sustainable processing. There are accessible natural timbers as decorative elements.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS Sustainable Materials

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is the company's first vehicle to include vegetable-tanned leather. Bean shells from coffee beans are used as tanning agents. The water used for tanning is circulated in a closed circuit and recycled before returning to natural water sources. Additionally, only plant-based substances are employed as fatliquoring agents in tanning. Salt is not used to preserve the responsibly processed leather. This helps each car with leather seats save about 45 kg of salt.

Mercedes-Maybach seeks to integrate sustainability with elegance. Numerous parts and components of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV are manufactured from resource-conserving materials. Also included are recycled aluminum and secondary steel. Utilizing recycled materials is a crucial step toward decarbonization. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV has the exclusive Maybach drive program in addition to the Dynamic Select, Eco, Sport, Offroad, and Individual driving programs.
