Petron, Phoenix, and CleanFuel extend free fuel assistance to May 15

MANILA: Frontline workers can rest easy knowing that the Free Ride Service for Health Workers Program of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) will continue to get fuel subsidies until May 15, 2020.

Petron Corporation, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., and CleanFuel have all extended the subsidy assistance following the extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon and other high-risk areas in the country.

Four Petron stations are assigned to accommodate participating private bus units by providing a total of 50 liters of fuel to 60 vehicle units or a total daily allocation of 3,000 liters. These Petron stations are located at Filinvest in Alabang, Macapagal Blvd. in Parañaque City, East Avenue in Quezon City, and in Mandaluyong City.

Phoenix Petroleum has also committed a total of 3,000 liters daily or 50 liters of fuel a day to 60 private bus companies. Participating bus units can proceed to seven designated Phoenix Petroleum gas stations: PX RETAIL CODO-Timog and PNX RETAIL CODO-Bahay Toro in Quezon City; PNX RETAIL CODO-Mall of Asia in Pasay City; PNX AFA PSPC-NAIA Road in Parañaque City; PNX RETAIL CODO-Malanday 1 in Valenzuela; PNX RETAIL CODO-Potrero in Malabon; and PNX AFA PSPC-Filinvest-Northgate in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

CleanFuel, on the other hand, will fuel 20 bus units with a total of 810 liters of fuel daily at CleanFuel Kamias and Pioneer.

“It is a welcome development that our oil company partners are extending their fuel subsidies for the Free Ride Service for Health Workers. Secretary Tugade, and the whole of DOTr, are grateful for Petron’s generosity. This help will go a long way especially now that the ECQ will go on until May 15,” said DOTr Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs Artemio Tuazon Jr.

The program has recorded a total of 429,927 riders as of April 26.
